Pit People
Modding The Game?
I've played this game for 400 hours now. Quite some time I would say...
I know this has been asked before but...
I'm still wondering will this game ever be opened for mods?

I'm quite sure the game is left now. Shame, we were supposed to get a workshop post release.

I think they should have expected it a little though. The game took a drastically different turn from Behemoth's signature side scrolling titles so you've already lost people who aren't interested in branching out as much as Behemoth.

I think it's a shame as I believe taking different creative avenues helps your craft improve, but Behemoth can share some blame as well. The game certainly wasn't anywhere near as advertised as Castle Crashers or Battle Block, it was the first Behemoth game to have an Early Access which keeping a game hyped during EA is very difficult, and then to top that off with the rushed conclusion to quickly wrap up development didn't help the game's fate.

Agreed, I feel like I read a dev post or an interview with The Behemoth discussing the benefit to making a turn based game and trying new things. I am excited to see how they'll spice up the new Hominid game. You made a good point about EA that I hadn't considered. Not every game can be Risk of Rain 2 during it's early access. I'd rather them just wait and release the Hominid then risk another dry early access.

Alien Hominid Invasion will more than likely perform better than Pit People. It's a legacy title that people have been wanting a sequel to for years, it's a side scrolling shooter which is not a huge change from their previous games, and it's not in Early Access.

Pit People could have been redeemed by finishing the content that was already planned to be in the game, and making very small content updates post launch. However, Behemoth got burned and clearly didn't want to invest further into it, which is understandable if they believed an Alien Hominid game would make up for lost profits.

With all of this said, Pit People is a good Behemoth game, but it definitely feels like an unfinished one. I think handing it to the community to mod and create community lead content expansions would make up greatly for this.
What's so difficult with granting workshop? Is it reluctance or does opening up workshop take a lot of work for devs?
Workshop could fix so many things that suck about this game. Dev's seem like they completely dropped this game I just hate when a dev clearly dont want to put any more effort into something but is so stingy they cant even set up a workshop.
is workshop harder to add to a game than i understand?

The Behemoth is working the Alien Hominid sequel/successor. They probably have no resources to put towards working on this game.
