Guns are the last thing I would be confused about being in the game.
Been awhile, but from what I (think) I can remember of the alien blaster it shot more projectiles at the cost of less range and damage than typical bows. The blaster had its own use in that more projectiles can mean more damage spread between enemies. The weapon was useful for a ranged character you wanted closer to the battle, not being as useless as an archer when next to an enemy.
Also, because the beta is its own game in the Library that means the only people that actually have Pit People and the mouse next to their name for this game are the devs...probably.
Realism? You do realise this is a Behemoth game, right?
No, the guns will not kill people in some quick or 'realistic' fashion, just as swords or flamethrowers or mortars won't.
