Pit People Items for Mascots and others
I have played a little bit of pit people now and have found myself enjoying certain characters quite alot. I managed to find some mascots early on and added it to my team as soon as I saw what it did. Shortly after I managed to find a massive enemy in the form of the Troll Mom. I love both these troops but was disapointed when I noticed all the items I got for them were purely cosmetic. Maybe im missing something or got unlucky and havent got any stat changing items but im sure that isnt the case. I also felt the mascot was weak (or at least felt uninvolved) and the troll mom was not worth the 3 slots it takes. (not saying directly buff the troll boss).

I think a way to fix these type of things would be to add stat influencing items for classes that currently don't have them (I understand that this is still early access and this might have already been planned and I also realize that maybe this isnt their vision or point). I think this could add more of a strategy to the game. Maybe add items in the mascot slot where they have the instrument or music player that could increase its stat increasing range by +1 (this would be strong if it went any further so +1 would be max). Another cool item (but maybe too situational or useless) would be to add a "boom"box that looks different from the current one that makes it so when the mascot dies it acts like the rainbow horse horn does sometimes and will wait 1 turn before blowing up to move your team out and acts like a zoning tool.

The same could go for the troll mom. You could add items that increase its regen (although that might be too strong) or such. I think stuff like this could make the classes feel more alive. In the case of the mascot it feels less of a support and more of a burst suicide character. I feel to fix that (or to make it customizable to your playstyle) you could make gear that changes it up. Maybe something that lowers its explosion damage but raises the stat increases? Idk maybe it is just me. I love the game so far though Behemoth so good on you! Can't wait to see where it goes further.

Oh, this argument again. Please understand, most the community wants a, what you see is what you get. With Humans and some creatures that can equip human equipment as a exception.

Behemoth already has a clear stance on balancing the game around the creatures, rather then the items. Devs have mentioned this on a Discussion similar to this.

I'd hate items that adjust creatures stats in a meaningful way. I LOVE how it is now. Little trade offs with some items. Creatures are also vastly different then humans and don't need even more confusing or diverse mechanics as them.

Most of the community would rather have what looks cool to them equipped rather then what is really op.

EDIT: but i'm glad you're interested in the game enough to create this discussion, please keep discussing your ideas! I love seeing people interested enough to share. <3

Now after reading that I actually agree with you. I see that they should be how they are. The thing I still want tweaked however is involvement with the Mascot. The mascot in the game is always referenced to be supportive and influencial in a teams power. It is a stat increaser. Even on that one Baseball map sidequest you see enemies stating how one mascot was extra supportive EVEN for a mascot. This talk makes it seem like the mascot should have higher stat increases for its teammates. As it is now the mascot is used in the pit (from what I have seen) as someone to take some damage while very slightly increasing 2-3 teammates stats until it is ultimately sacrificed on purpose to deal high burst damage to the enemy. Even then it is hard to use its burst because players will use the mascots terrible mobility and weaknesses against it. Enemies will outrange it and then the mascots main (current) use in the pit is useless. I wish they would buff its supportive capabilites (maybe even to the point of increasing damage of nearby allies as well or a verry slight regen? idk maybe that is too much) and I wish to compensate for that buff they would slightly lower its damage on explode. IDK im still new having only just above 8 hours in the game (I did beat the available story missions all on my first try though and have around 45% of the unit types captured.). I might be madly wrong lol but im learning the game and enjoying it still. Thanks for replying.

Pair a Mascot with a mushroom and pixie. When it's low, make him walk up to an enemy, then while he stands on the fire tile, they can't run away because he'll explode that round, or the self inflicted poison can kill it and explode that turn as well.

Plus Mascots are the best paired with ranged people, they increase accuracy if you didn't know. Also makes cupcakes heal more. They can even ride on Spidaurs and give the boost to allies and help fight without taking damage that isn't aoe.

Wow the cupcakes healing more is quite useful. Also I need to get a spiduar to see how that works out. Thanks for the tips! Also I know it does accuracy. I pair it with my Rainbow Horse. Is that any good?

Rainbow Horses and Mortars are really good with Mascots ^u^)

Yeah, I've used the troll mom and she has a lot of potential for damage and general disruption because of her babbies and metric ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of life. The downside to her is that if there's one of those ghost octopus things out there, it can really screw you up if it manages to proc either of its status effects due to how big she is and how trolls get bonus damage vs trolls. Actually, anything that keeps her from taking an action (frozen, stunned, etc.) is pretty good, since that also means one more turn where she can't poop out another troll babby (or I THINK that's what happens, the stun preventing the baby spawn, not me actually thinking she poops the troll babies).

Other than what I listed, she's pretty good, especially if paired up with a mascot, since it will in turn buff her babies (bonus points if you make a spidaur the hero and throw the mascot on it to keep it from exploding prematurely)
