Will we see Hatty in the story?

Will we see Hatty Hattington in pit people? Will we know more about his fate or something? (since the hat caused the begining of pit people)

It would be a cool thing to see him again however he is kinda dead but... who knows :)

If he does come back it could be a stamper voicefest. As much as I want that hatty is a vegetable right now and is at the bottom of the ocean.

You can see Hatty Hattington during the introduction, and he doesn't look very dead to me.

Also, I'm wondering if there's going to be a plot twist and we find out that it was the Bear who hosts the puppet show during the BattleBlock Theater cutscenes.

I'm pretty sure Hatty is dead. It was the main shocker for BBT. And it played well with the Orange Princess being dead at the end of Castle Crashers as well. Both games made you feel like you stopped the villains and saved the last of their victims to only find out once safe and sound, that the person you just saved had actually not survived the journey. It would be a lot sadder if the overall comedy of the game and moments didn't help distract you from your best friend and that princess you ALMOST saved earlier had met their demise.

I don't know, it could just be a simplified version of the BBT ending, but I doubt that Hatty is dead.

The Narrator from BBT did have some theories concerning the hat that Hatty is forced to wear, one of those theories is that the hat is haunted by the souls of it's previous wearers. That might make the wearer immortal? I don't know, but it didn't seem like Hatty drowned, if anything he (or the hat) sounded rather distressed.

Yes, I also thought the ending meant he finally overcame the hat's influence. The narrator says during the game that red=evil and green=good, so the green flash might mean that hatty became himself again (and his "vegetable" state was just the result of too much haunting or something).
Still, why did it fire a laser? Did it purposely aimed it at the bear, or was it an accident? (on the intro picture you sent, he seems to aim at him on purpose) What are the bears? Why did he killed the seemingly "good one"?
... so many questions, I really hope they answer them -at least a little bit-
