Couldn't believe there was no controller support, OR multiplayer!!
After some googling I think I found out they are releasing a multiplayer version... only for apple?!
pleased that i did not waste my money on this one
The analogs are very accurate, and fast, I would wager that it may even be faster then the mouse.
OSMOS is an awesome game and at first I thought that touchscreen (samsung galaxy) would be the most responsive and intuitive input method for precisely angled protoplasm vectoring/launching (or whatever it's called).
I just now considered getting it for my PC and led me to this thread when I found out there was no gamepad/analog stick support.
If you think about it mouse is not intuitive to chase the mote and hit upon the correct spot with the cursor to get the best angle launch. An analog stick would be perfect. The center of the stick being the visual representation of the mote and the direction of the stick tap would launch your protoplasm. Hand eye coordination would easily make that feel natural even if after a bit of getting used to.
Not sure how many points of direction around the 360 degree of the mote there are in the touchscreen version, but the analog stick could easily have just as many or more.
The stick would be an awesome input method. Too Bad.
Some games are better with different controls, but this is a no brainer for controller support. This is a sit back and chill game, one you can take your time over.
TLDR - No controller - no buy.
I am glad it did not take to long to map it out on joystick mapper, but I would prefer not to have to use a 3rd party app.
