To answer your question: yes. There is no GFWL support for this title. Nor is there any way to hook up most games on steam to earn achievements. Usually, you can see whether or not a title uses GFWL by reading the information on the right hand side of the store page for the game. Usually, somewhere around there, there will be something noting that GFWL is available for that title

It lists Games for Windows titles and also tells you whether they are LIVE enabled or not.
The Osmos entry says it is LIVE enabled if bought from G.o.D (Games on Demand) only.
