It is known for certain Anti-Virus softwares to mistake games as being viruses. If your copy of the game has a virus, I assure you it was infected after you downloaded it from Steam, It is not downloading with a Virus pre-installed.

As for the black screen problem, well it is most likely a compatibility issue, maybe with some NVidia cards as someone suggested. It works fine on my machine which has Radeon graphics, but doesn't work on my girlfriends machine and she has NVidia.

If your anti-virus didn't pick up anything when you downloaded it, then it is not a virus. But yes, your anti-virus does not like your game. It happens to some games.
