[HOTFIX] Unable to start Warface

[Valentine]

After the Oct 11th update some steam users are unable to start Warface via Steam.

Current Hot Fixes:
(These hotfixes are in a specific order, if one doesn't work move on to the next.)

Cannot verify digital signayure

For all players getting Windows cannot verify the digital signature [...] error when launching the game today after getting a Windows update http://i67.tinypic.com/24vnn7d.png

Temporary solution: Disable Secure boot

And wait patiently until they fix the problem.

Deleting Game Folder

%Homepath%\Saved Games\My Games\Warface
directory, delete:
HeadsCache\
ModelsCache\
Profiles\
QueryCache\
Shaders\
game.cfg
and start the game.

Turn Off User Access Control

1. Type UAC in the search field on your taskbar. (If the search field isn't visible, right-click the Start button and choose Search.)
   
2. Click Change User Account Control settings in the search results.
   
3. Then do one of the following:
   
4. To turn UAC off, drag the slider down to Never notify and click OK.
   
5. To turn UAC on, drag the slider up to the desired level of security and click OK.
   
6. You may be prompted to confirm your selection or enter an administrator password.
   
7. Reboot your computer for the change to take effect.

Valentine's Hotfix (Video in progress)

Ensure you are a fresh restart before doing this.

1. Open your steam Library
   
2. Right click Warface and click Properties
   
3. Click on the Local Files Tab
   
4. Open Browse Local Files...
   
5. Replace the corresponding extension files with the ones Provided[drive.google.com].
   
   WarfaceMycomSteamLoader.exe found in

   X:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Warface

   MyComGames.exe Found in

   X:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Warface\MyComGames

6. Start Warface normally

Re-install Warface

Ensure you are a fresh restart before doing this.

1. Open your steam Library
   
2. Right click Warface and click Uninstall
   
3. Re-install Warface normally via Steam.

Guys, I got my game running by doing the following:

1. Open your steam Library
   
2. Right click Warface and click Properties
   
3. Click on the Local Files Tab
   
4. Open Browse Local Files...
   
5. Go one directory above the one you are in (this should be your library folder with all your games)
   
6. Right click on Warface folder and select Properties.
   
7. Uncheck the Read Only checkbox and hit OK
   
8. Choose Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files and hit OK

Hopefully, this works for some of you, and you don't have to download the entire game again.

Try deleting the contents of the folders in C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\My Games\Warface. And then changing your monitor resolution to 1280x720.
I guess in my case it has something to do with having a weird resolution (1842x1036) in which case it doesn't work.

None of those work... i would not like to download the game again. But if i still have to, will i lose my game progress when i reinstall Warface? My problem is every time the same: Game.exe is not a valid Win32 appliaction. What can i do with it? I have deleted that exe and replaced it but still not working

you can also find it on officail forums found at wf.my.com. How ever with two of the fixes you can not use "~"@Steam log in.

I replaced WarfaceMycomSteamLoader.exe but when i get into the Game i get this message "Protection System detected something [...]"+ "Lost Connection to Server" and get kicked out of the Game. How can i fix this?

I did your hotfix, and when i launched the game through steam a very suspicious launcher appeared and the app tried to open an unsecure website. I immediately closed everything of course. Litsen man, i have paid money for this game, and it is My.com's responsibility to fix the games so that i can play it. I dont know how to configure bios settings, and i am not gonna risk going there. Your guide shouldnt exist, because the game shouldnt have issues like this. No other game has these kinds of issues, where you literally are unable to launch the game, and the devs dont fix it. Just to be sure, is the problem you are referring to the bug where after the launcher, you click play and the message "warface has stopped working" pops up?

Ok your solution seemed to almost get a virus in my computer, and judging by the responses on this thread, and my.com being popular scam artists, with other games from them containing viruses, i will assume you are a scammer. Guys, dont trust valentine, or anyone associated with my.com.

None of the solutions worked. Stucked on Black screen then back to desktop. I'm just wondering what kind of data are getting collected by Valentine's .exe provided ... Kinda suspicious. Warface should verify this exe.

The files valentine provided are viruses. My pc automatically opened an unsecure window after i launched warface, and the alternative launcher seemed very suspicious.
