How does one save a game?

I played for about 30 minutes, maybe longer, and quit. I saw no way to save a game, but saw that one could, theoretically, "Load Saved Game." Well, upon re-launching, there was no save, and I had to completely begin again.

Can someone clarify what I really hope I'm missing?

The television set.
The first one you see is after you pulled the wooden planks down that covers up the hole. It's to the left at the end of the hole.

The television set? I don't follow. I mean, I don't remember every detail, but how does a tv set help me save?

You can interact with the TV, which will save your game.

so there is one place in the game to save a game, or there are multiple tvs throughout? (Please understand, having no clue and having played very little of the game due to the saving issue, this is relatively french to me.)

I won't look at the walkthrough yet, but now I know how to save games, and if I get stuck, I know where to go!
