Waypoints?
Is there a way to set waypoint markers for aircraft/ship, so that they'll follow the directions you set out?

You select the object (ship, plane, TLAM, TASM etc) you want and then press M. That will show a line from the object to it's next waypoint/target. Shift-Rightclick adds a new target/waypoint to an existing stack of waypoints/targets. You cannot add waypoints to TLAMs or TASMs as they are programed at launch and will not accept commands after launcch. To tell a ship or plane to stop following it's waypoints or intercepting target(s), right-click on it and tell it to either "resume station" or "return to base"

As a matter of cource I always pause the game on startup, click each of my chips, subs and planes, and press M on each one before I begin. Then seledt each plane on launch and press M. You can do this while the game is paused or not paused.

M, then shift and right click. Thanks harlech, I was trying to shift and left click and do all kinds of things but never this.

The first waypoint or target you give an object just needs a right-click; The subsequent waypoints or targets need will need a shift-click if you want them to be executed in sequence. If you right-click (not shift-right-click) on a target or on empty space after your object already has a waypoint(s) and/or target(s) then the sequence of waypoint(s) and/or target(s) will be lost and the sequence will start over with a new waypoint or target. This is true even if your object only has a single waypoint or target.

M is an object-specific toggle; Select an object and then press M once to toggle on the waypoint lines, M again to not show the lines.

Object behavior in the game is not actually affected by the M-toggle function. They will still execute their waypoints with or withought the show-lines function on.
