I got Fleet Command running at 1920X1200 without any issues.

You really should give it a go. Hope that helps.
I'm interested to know how you achived that resolution with Nglide. Highest I get with it is 1024 x 768. In DX mode I get 1600 x 1200. Please share what you configured. Thanks.
Now, while in game, the UI doesn't scale to the new resolution and I think that's a blessing (reading the instructions would be a nightmare in such a high resolution), but the 3d objects and the 2 maps definitely do !
After reading your message, I launched the game and cranked up my resolution to 3840x1260 and it works (picture is a little too streched for my taste but you can use the 4:3 option in the nglide configurator). 1920x1200 is definitely better as it maintains a better aspect ratio for the game.
I guess the key step here is creating custom resolutions (downsampling) for your monitor before launching the game.
I have an nvidia card so it's quite easy to achieve (I don"t know about amd card, but I don't see why it wouldn't work).
Maybe DSR with an nvidia card could be of use, but I didn't try for I'm quite happy with my current results.
Hope this helps.
Some random screens at the top of my screenshots gallery; if you click them, you'll see they display perfectly in 1920x1200 :

Are you sure this can't be achieved via an AMD card, though ? I think you can downsample since late december (Catalyst Omega drivers) by using VSR (Virtual Super Resolution).

Good luck.
My card is a 970 GTX Nvidia and I've got a 27'' monitor.
1. Create a custom resolution of 1920x1200 via the Nvidia Control Pannel.
2. Setup in Nglide : resolution '1920X1200' (or 3840x1260) and 'fit to screen' selected.
3. In the Nvidia CP : select 'Adjust desktop size and position' and select 'aspect ratio' for the scaling mode, then choose 'GPU' for 'Perform scaling on'. Last, check 'override the scaling mode set by game and programs'.
4. launch the game.
You should be good to go. Use the same process for 3840x1260.
Keep in mind that you'll stiil have some tiny black borders on each side of your screen, but that's hardly an issue. The aspect ratio is also not totally a 100% perfect, but I find it quite sufficient.
As I've mentionned in my previous post, the UI doesn"t scale back to the downsampled resolution, but the graphics in the 3D view are definitely at 1920x1200 or 3840x1260.
If you check this screenshot in fullscreen mode, you'll notice it is a high res picture : http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=429265395
This is a direct capture via steam, the picture hasn't been tampered with in any way.
Hope that helps.
I'm kinda busy, but if I have some time on my hands, I'll try to do a YT video.
I've some history with trying to find tweaks for great ol' games (specially at Simhq.com with sims such as Jane's F-15, Jane's USAF, and Jane's F/A-18 - my other pseudo is Andromedius)
I stumbled on this solution with a mix of curiosity and some trial and error. I'd like to post this solution on your forum but I don't have the url. I have no problem with you posting it if you want to. The way I see it, we, lovers of great games, must pull together to keep them alive and kickin'.
As for the video, I'll do one at the end of the week. I'll keep you posted.
Regards.

However, in Fleet Comand the highest res choice I get is 1280x1024
Also, the nGLide Voodoo splash screen never shows up so I do not think nGLide is doing jack for Fleet Command.
Same here, any solution?
