New Windows 10/Fleet Command Display Problem

Dear JFC Community,

As of 10/8/2019 I can no longer start Fleet Command without Windows minimizing the game and making it impossible to play. I suspect that the latest update might be a culprit. What is new, is during start-up the Windows task-bar flashes for a moment. The game minimizes, and then will not stick to full screen mode when the icon is clicked.

In the past, at any time Windows decides to interrupt a game where the desktop is in view and the game is minimized to an icon, it is impossible to resume game-play because there is a duplication (in green) of the game display in full screen mode after restoring the game to full screen mode. This is to say, there are two copies on the screen at one time, and they are in a green-scale. Now, the full screen mode will not stay up for but a few seconds before Windows minimizes it again. Yes, when restored for the few moments it is ruined by duplication and green-scale.

This effectively makes it impossible to play now. I run an Alienware 14 from 2014. I really wish Microsoft would just stop with these updates outside of security; and I really wish there was ownership of this game by someone who cares about the people purchasing it. Steam- please put some pressure on the publisher to get this working well for the future.

agreed. you are not alone. can't run in compatibility mode either because then it can't find steam. at least in my case.

Try to install Glid3D..mine seems not affected with the latest update, if I recall, I install this long ago. Maybe not related but worth a try.

I seem to remember something like this a while ago. You might want to give the .exe "run as admin" rights, just to see if it helps. Also make sure one monitor only. If you have two disable one. See if that helps.

Damn if I could only help.... I have no set compatibility, NVIDIA set to "keep aspect ratios" for different resolutions... no fancy tool. It starts and runs perfect. Even the old Jane's IAF, USAF.. F-15 etc. Win10 x64 here.

Are anyone of you still having issues because I just installed the game on my new Windows 10 64-bit desktop along with the excellent NWP mod for it and it plays the the same as on my old Windows 7? No issues at all as Cabal posted.

Hey man how did you install yours? Because I'm also having major problem trying to install mine.

Issue resolved. No explanation, but able to play.
