Have you tried deleting the Shader Cache?
Toxique Feb 17 @ 9:36am
no dice. cleared it via way of disabling shader cache in the control panel, %localappdata% and deleting the cache there along with locallow's cache and re-enabling shader cache
have you changed settings just to see if that helps

apologies, to be clear, the game cannot be booted and am prevented from entering it with the above error message when I click Play.

Just tested CP2077 if it means anything; runs on high no issues so ruling out hardware issues

What is your Windows version and build? (If you are on Win11, dont need build)
Have you used any mods for the game? (Some mods do not remove files even with reinstall of the game)
Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Did you search for this error online? On Microsoft portal is a fix posted.

Kindly click on the link below and download/install the Directx End-User runtime library on your computer

I think sending links are forbidden, but you you should find it easily. I used duckduckgo and was second link.

Tried it, says i have a newer version available so no further installation is required (which i presume is the existing DX12 already on the system).

To add for context, the game does not even allow a first boot into it, Nvidia app is detecting an executable but all other sources (System > Display > Graphics, to force the GPU usage) is not detecting an exe. Unable to physically locate the .exe as well

Solved it, turns out the issue was with a faulty XINPUT1_3.dll (Microsoft updates mirite)

Attempting to brute force and launch FF7Rebirth's via its .exe returned this error:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\XINPUT1_3.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media

Followed a *verified* answer post on Microsoft forums to get that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ deleted and then re-ran the DirectX web installer; this time actually installing the missing files deleted.

Restarted and the game ran as normal again.
