Question about difficulty
Hey guys! quick question, I just got to chapter 3. Been reading about dynamic mode and how it's considered a challenge instead of normal mode (Which i thought would have been the opposite.)

So my question is.

Should I start from the beginning again on Dynamic from the offset

Or just change my difficulty via the options menu?
and does this affect achievements at all?
I don't want to be too over levelled and not feel the challenge. I feel i might be after i change difficulty.

P.S Does changing difficulty mid game affect achievements at all?

Changing difficulty won't hurt your achievements. Dynamic just brings all enemies up to your level.

So do you think i should change it to dynamic? I dont want the fights to be too easy and i don't know if it will now since i've done some sidequests on normal. I'm guessing square enix ironed out the difficulties for these situations?

You can give it a try and go back if you don't like it. Personally, playing only with Dynamic so far I don't honestly think it is an issue in the slightest. I doubt you would find it too hard.
I keep it on normal because this game gets me f$+king tilted at times.

How do you think the enemies will be? I'm level 20 i believe currently. Is it too late to change to dynamic? I won't be overlevelled for it will I?

Sorry if its a silly question. Just want to be careful for this playthrough.
or does it auto correct damage for enemies etc.

nope, there is no diffrence achievement wise (except hard mode), so you can switch around as you like.
Dynamic is not that much of a challenge, though it depends (played rarely on dynamic). Dynamic just kicks in, if you are overleveled, if you are on par with your content, dynamic is the same as normal.

You can switch the difficult also from the menu any time you like.

Just stick with normal then? Bosses/enemeies will just be as tough on normal as they would with dynamic?

it depends on the level, you can look at the main quests in the menu, there is a level so bosses/enemies are roughly that level:

So if you do a lot of sidequests, this and that content you may be overleveled. For example you are level 20 but the quests are 15, you will do more damage and have more hp than the fight was designed for, dynamic scales the enemies to level 20, but does not impact the difficulty in other ways.

Switch around, try yourself, you can't really f'up your save game :)

Do you think me being level 20 its too late to change to dynamic for it to be fair?
I don't think it makes much of a difference, it's hard to overlevel until you hit the golden saucer and a couple of level 40 challenges open up. The XP/kill drops dramatically if you're higher level than the enemies so, you'll probably be around the same level as the enemies (or lower if you didn't do all the side content).

No, because Dynamic will always scale them up to you so Dynamic will always be fair as the enemies are at your level.

The only difference between Dynamic and Normal in combat is that you can be underleveled in both difficulties, but in Dynamic you can never be overleveled unlike Normal.

Personally, I don't think the game is hard enough typically to matter and if you really found a certain fight hard you could lower the difficulty, but typically its a mechanics thing.

Further, hard mode will be harder than both and hard mode includes new challenges/rewards.

Up to you.

Depends on how much you like the combat and how much you skip it. You can always adjust it, anyways, between normal/dynamic so best answer is to give it a try. I heard it can effect some of the mini-games too, but idk much about that.

i wouldn't say dynamic is a challenge once you learn combat and get synergy skills for regular enemies you encounter they will die quickly and hardly do damage

Pray can fully heal the party , and easy to get 2 atb on aerith with her synergy attack skills , if your lucky it doesn't kill them in one shot most times.

The only challenge you will face is bosses , and maybe the combat challenges in the open world with the time limit, and then its pretty easy.

have tons of healing items and pheonix i never have to use , only had to use benches maybe 4 times and just to top off MP

I never played remakes hard mode , but might play it in rebirth

The synergy skills are just overpowered , pretty much any thing you want fire ice lightning wind, and cost no mana

So i'd suggest dynamic atleast they will be the same level as you i guess?

even with a 2.5x health mod normal fights were quick even the timed combat challenges were doable but almost required perfection
