The stuttering is so bad now
I upgraded my PC for this game specifically, and now with the new patch it's literally unplayable for me. Come on Square, I want to use my 5080 to see swimsuit Tifa in 4K. I'm stuck swimming in the mines with Barret >_>

Are you using DLSS 4? How is that possible?

Obviously, if you have any mods installed, they might be causing some issues. For example, speaking of mods, you know the one for Tifa where she wears a red jumpsuit called "casual outfit"?

Some users reported that it made Tifa immortal after equipping that outfit.

So, there must be some problem; I'm doing a hard mode run right now, and I'm playing at 4K 120 FPS with a 4060 Ti with 16 GB. There has to be an issue.

Or I don't know if this is the case, but I heard that the Blackwell architecture generally had problems with older games like missing textures, wrong compilations, black screens (probably early-stage problems that will be fixed with drivers).

I don't know if this is the case, but remember that they've been developing this game since 2013 (with part 1), so it could also fall into the list of older games with which it has problems, even though it has an exceptional technical component.

120fps with a 4060ti on 4k you need to show these youtube guys running it on 4k with that card because they are getting like 40s and 50s lol

sure, 4K dlss low settings and 33% ( 720p internal) i believe him getting 120fps at "4k" 4K is his display not his internal res

You can see everything on ultra settings with DLAA... Maybe I saw the video you're talking about, and in the comments, someone wrote, "But I get double your FPS; how is that possible?" and the guy replied, "Because I'm recording a video in 4K." Anyway, if you don't believe me,

I've shown you the settings. You can give me your Discord, and I'll stream it to you to prove that I'm not lying... I don't go around writing things to other people that I don't know. LOL
Try to match your monitor refresh rate to your fps setting and run V-sync (i.e. 60 Hz/60 fps or 120 Hz/120fps). This game's VRR is really jittery.

I have 240 Hz monitor with VRR, and it runs much smoother at 60 Hz and V-sync. Even though 240 Hz is a multiple of 60 Hz, 240 Hz still runs worse for some reason.

Other than that, there is probably some shader stutter or disk I/O stutter that needs to be fixed.

What resolution is your monitor? Even though it says 4k if you're playing on borderless fullscreen it renders at whatever resolution your display is.

Excuse me, but do you have FFVII Rebirth? LOL, there is only this as fullscreen and windowed mode. LOL

( Anyway, I have two monitors: one 4K and one Full HD, which I use for multiplayer games. I only play some single-player games in 4K. :P )

I second checking for mod compatibility. I have a 4090, latest Nvidia drivers, and the new patch runs perfectly fine. Better even, if I'm being honest. I was getting odd stuttering during cutscenes in golden saucer (no where else) and those completely went away after this patch. I updated ff7 hook and didn't have to touch Lyall's ultrawide fix.
My 3080 10gb did good enough untill i got out into the open world on the way to the Chocobo Ranch....and now the game is just crushing the performance... even when i switch to 1080p or 1440p the frame rate is just all over the place...
and yes stuttering pretty much no matter what.
im waiting to get a better GPU so i can 4k higher than 60fps

are you playing on ultra settings by any chance?

Because the requirements say 12 GB of VRAM for ultra... but I've checked both in Full HD and 4K, and in some areas, I've seen it using almost 13 GB in Full HD, other areas 11 GB, and other parts 10.5 GB, for example.

Anyway, if you're not running out of VRAM, do you have the game and Windows on NVMe? Because this game makes heavy use of SSDs... Have you tried DLSS 4?

I don't know how it performs on Ampere, but on Ada Lovelace, there's a huge performance boost (in some cases, it's almost like a hardware upgrade).

Yeah the fullscreen is borderless windowed. But try playing it on your 4k display. There's no way you're getting a clean 120 fps at native 4k with a 4060. Use an fps counter on your 4k display with maxed out graphics on fullscreen with DLAA and you'll be getting between 30 and 40 fps.

I don't have a 4060, but a 4060 Ti with 16 GB(The GPU inside is not the same as the 4060; they are actually different chips.), and I s get 120-110 FPS.

Maybe at Costa del Sol with maxed-out NPCs, I drop to 90-80, but generally, I get 120 FPS. If you want, I can stream it on Discord; I don't know what else to tell you. ^^

Update ff7hook if you used it before

Even with a 4060 Ti you aren't getting 120 FPS at native 4k. You must be running on your 1080p display.
