I hate her. Honestly yap yap yap yap yap. It's either OMG I LOVE MATERIA, ughgh I feel car sick or ShInRa Is BaD. No matter what she is annoying and boring.

Haven't looked at mods as I'm still doing my first play-through of the game but honestly tempted to see if there is a mod that mutes her so I don't need to listen to her at all.

I'm in Nibelheim and Yuffie has had more speech that fkin Tifa despite this zone being her and Cloud's hometown area ffs.

The one zone where you think it should 90% be about Cloud and Tifa and yet fkin Yuffie is basically the main character in this zone

This is only the mandatory spoken scenes and not optional content. That said, this is quite the contrary from what you said as less than 1% of her entire dialog is as you claim and at least two of the materia mentions are in the same conversation.

As I'm not done with the main game (and I don't intend to use her much on first playthrough) so I can't comment about her side content optional talking but considering what I see from the main script it seems highly unlikely what you are claiming is true.

Regardless, she might see improvement after her Wutai segment in episode 3. A shame it wasn't able to make it into episode 2.

Trust me she doesn't shut up about Materia in all the optional content. I don't know if you are able to check that or not but if you are you'll see she literally doesn't shut up about it.

Why do you think I've only brought up this post when I'm at Nibelheim. There is a side quest in gongaga too where she keeps talking about her payment being materia.

Also it's not just materia and getting sick it's also just the fact she ruins every serious moment with some stupid little comment or joke.

You could just swap her out and use her for only her character quests potentially, instead. Tifa also might not be a good pair, in general, with her because Tifa doesn't exactly do much outside of Cloud and Johnny and is rather quite/reserved, herself. Pretty bad match up with someone who can't stop talking. Could be a factor too, possibly, though I'm not sure for optional dialog.

Her character development in Intergrade was a stand out for me

The original was far better. Everything is worse in the remake except a few side notes that are just written down in some books from the original.

Yuffie in general is a good character but the western people seem to have a different taste it seems. To each their own

FF was never fully based on serious scenarios only, it was always a good mix of dangerous and silly. The only 2 exceptions were Type zero and 16.

All previous games since 1 always had such stuff
