The Mini Games ruined this game for me.
I loved FF7 Remake. I played it over many times on hard mode. Optimized all my strats on the Hard Mode bosses, filled out the entire play log and Platinum'd it.

I've just finished my first run of Rebirth. I played the entire game on Dynamic, which is apparently harder than normal, completed all quests and beat all the hard mode mini games with all rewards etc.

I don't want to play this game anymore. The mini games completely ruined it for me. I feel completely let down. I dread having to do them over.

This is the fault of the director and producer of this game. How in the hell did they let the game get padded out like this with these BS trash mini games every 10mins - that in many cases you need to play up to 3 times over to complete all quests.

I hope SE has received the feedback loud and clear on these trash mini games. If the next game has anything like this load of BS, no buy.

as per always: you do not need to do them all, in fact you have to only really do a few in cost and some in gold, and thats it.

but in the end, it sounds like you completed the full main story, so its not really surprising that your burnt out, thats pretty normal in games that have a 60-70 runtime

Just don't do 90% of the content bro. Maybe they shouldn't have included 90% worthless content and gatekept good items with psychological tricks to play their terrible intern projects.

Right? Making them required was a real killer. Some of them were great, but then loading in so many in Costa del Sol, right after the parade, was painful. And walking backwards to coax chickens... wow...

The original had some great ones - I remember my friends and I playing the snowboarder more than actual PSX snowboarding games.

So you basically 100% it sans hard mode and now you say, nah i am done with the game after i 100% it? Doesn't make sense to me. If i ever 100% it, i might say: 'was a cool time, time to move on to the next game'

Welcome to final fantasy franchise

if u cry about minigames, think about it doing them with just keyboard and mouse, thats the real pain. people without a controller are doomed.
What I didn't liked is for example, the Gambit minigame on Cosmo Canyon.
You read a tutorial, learn the rules and invest time into building your strategy when you already know it's going to be played less than 10 times?
Same for the Fort Condor minigame - few matches and is gone.
All these idea feel under-developed, Queen's Blood is the only one with a constant focus and I wish there where more than 4 matches per town because that takes me less than 6 minutes to complete.

So yeah, they should have few but develope them further.
it saddens me that this game is all bloat and filler. people who say just skip the mini games and chadley filler should practice what they preach and try a play through without getting better gear.
True, this game could have been much better if it was more concise like remake

Buckle up, because part 3 wont be any better. Game sold decently, reviews are solid, that means people love minigames and climbing towers

I got my gear from purple boxes and vendors, same for materia (which i found mostly lying around). yes i missed out on one magnify and elemental, which you don't need till hard mode. Maybe we should try it the other way around, complete the game with just mini game eq, let's see who fares better :)

On the non-existent chance that Square Enix is actually looking here for feedback, I want to add here that I love the mini games and I say keep them coming.

I hope for the next game we will have at least this many mini games, but hoping for even more.

They do, just some stats:

11,4% got the 3 Star Hotel Achievment
8,2% got the Chapter 12 (this unlocks a ton of stuff and even some hotel collecitble are only achievable with this)
6,4% got the chapter 14

so i felt the pacing of the minigames were awful, so i decided to takle them after the game as i planned to give hard mode a try:

I unlocked chapter 14 achievement at 1st of Feb, while i got the 30 Achievement on the 13rd of Feb.

So peeps are actually enjoying / doing the Minigame stuff way before the story

Well, maybe they liked them, maybe not. Maybe they are completionists and hated every minute of it, who knows lol

I for example will have to do all of the hotel stuff (and will probably not enjoy it all that much) because i want to S rank all the piano songs.
At the same time ive skipped everything except card game and piano since Gongaga.
