This is the second part of a trilogy, so you should start with the first part, i.e., Remake Integrade.

XII is good too, but with a LOT easier combat system.

FF12 is more traditional in the sense that it plays more like how the old games did.
FF7 ( remake ) mixed that with action gameplay and is quite different but still way more like what FF games used to be than FFXVI or XV.

I also recommend Final Fantasy 7 Remake. I really enjoyed (and recently finished) that game.
Every Final Fantasy game is different. Out of the 16 I have my list of favorites: 4, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14. Well 14 was my favorite MMORPG for a few years, but not so much anymore.
My "just OK" list is 10, 12, 13-2, 15. I am not sure if the first one even counts, but I did replay it a few times back in the day. It's grind heavy, but I loved it back then.
