On PS5 these were rewards for playing the demo.
On PC seems they'll be Twitch Drops.

Kupo Charm gives you a chance to get double pickups when gathering materials even the rare pickups. Pretty useful apparently according to friends who played on PS5 as crafting is fairly important. You want to make at least 1 of each item, so you can unlock higher tier recipes.

As for watching Twitch, you can just minimize the window and mute the stream. No need to actually watch it.

People who bought this game on the PS5 on launch day had to subscribe to Doordash for the Posh Chocobo. People who played the first one at launch had to track down codes on Butterfinger wrappers for limited supplied accessories. If you bought FFVII Remake at launch, you couldn't preorder the DLC which came with a preorder bonus weapon that they charged people 10 dollars for.

Watching a Twitch Steam is barely doing any work at all.

I'm not a fan of these awful practices either, but you have to do so much less than people who faithfully buy these games on day 1. Complaining about this seems like you are missing the forest for the trees at this point.

Yes you need a twitch account and you just watch someone who is sponsored usually they have a link with all the channels participating. Then you just watch for a certain amount of time. At which point youll be given a code which will be located in your twitch inventory. Or sometimes youll have to link another gaming account service but this shouldnt be the case this time. So youll get a code to claim in steam or epic.

just open any drop related stream on your phone twitch app and afk u dont need to open it on a pc

How annoying. This means that you can’t play the game when it drops if you want to fully use the accessory and have to wait for the Twitch to give it to you.

Anyone else kind of disgusted with the practice in general of Twitch Drops?

If you have an item in a game, have it come from that game and that game alone. Don't have the mechanism for acquiring it come from an outside source.

I refuse to watch a livestream even once in my life. Hard pass on this item and may they learn their lesson and stop integrating this nonsense into their games.

Well for me its gonna take 5+ days to download the game, so I'll have plenty of time to have gotten the drops by the time I can actually play the game.

Sucks that preload isn't a thing when the game is so huge.

my brother in christ you can download the app on your phone and let it run for an hour while you are playing the game. there is no reason to throw a tantrum when you don’t even have to be present

PSA that you can mute on mobile, but need to have at least 1% volume for desktop.
