Why is this game discounted so much for a preorder?

Dont get me wrong, I'm really glad they're on a really good discount for a preorder, and managed to preorder it on GMG for 43% off ($40.17) otherwise I would have waited if it was much higher. But it's really interesting to see this go for a huge discount upon pc release, never seen it for any other game before.

The game is one year old. If SE didn't discount the game, then people would be complaining that SE is greedy. Not to mention that it is a great way to entice gamers to get the twin pack, so that they can enjoy the story from the beginning.

I think it is a very nice gesture and anybody interested in the game should accept it.

I got the Twin Pack and I know for a fact the same Twin Pack deal was available on the PS5 before release. It's just a good deal. If you're interested, it's not a bad price to pay for two amazing games.

I really appreciate the discount, especially since they made me wait for so long.
I still would have bought it at full price, but the discount makes me happy.
They could have gotten more money from me for this specific purchase, but the fact that buying this made me happy means I associate them with happiness and am more likely to buy more things from them in the future.

because it's going to be yet another terrible square PC port and getting you to preorder by offering a big discount means you aren't sat around waiting for the inevitable, port is bad, reports to come out
