Extreme Frame Drop
So I recently just built my PC and this game ran without a problem at all and constantly had frames @120 while running the game on Windows 10. After upgrading to Windows 11 I barely get 60 FPS. I cleared shader cache in FF folder as well as DirectX with a reboot and no luck at all. Who can point me to the right direction to get this game run like it was on Windows 10 because this is stupid as HELL!

EDIT: It looks like the issue is with RAM speeds/XMP profile. Once I set max supported RAM speeds for my CPU instead of AUTO, it did the trick. Make sure XMP is enabled also, for some reason it got disabled in my bios.

No issues here with win 11 24h2, if you upgrade form win 10 to win 11 be sure all drivers are up to date, and check if all you have installed is compatible with win 11, when changing/updating to different windows version, always happens that kind of stuffs, that coz is better just make fresh win 11 install, instead upgrade from 10 to 11.

For make fresh Win 11 install just google Windows 11 ISO (and be sure enter in Microsoft link, since you have there official win 11 stuff)and use Media Creation Tool option for make USB stick for Win 11 fresh install, will take like 5 - 10 min to make fresh install, then you need install only needed drivers, don't install all from manufacture, just ones you need, and off course install latest GPU drivers yes or yes, also be sure you have Resizable Bar Enabled in Bios and you have Game Mode Enabled in Windows 11 (Settings > Gaming > Game Mode and after that in push there Graphics and be sure you have Enabled Optimisations for Windowed Games and in Advanced Graphics Settings you have all options Enabled too.

try disable the "memory integrity" in windows defender, that is the major difference between win10/11.

It looks like that option is already disabled by default.

I'm going to reinstall everything on Windows 11 now and see if that helps.

OK, just follow that steps i wrote, are the main differences with win 10. anything say me here
I'll be honest with you. The first game had the same issue and was NEVER fixed. This game runs on the same engine so I highly doubt the stuttering and frame drops will ever be fixed unless by modders.. it's crazy because I can run ff16 with absolutely 0 issues.

I only get frame drops when putting background detail to ultra as that's the most demanding setting. At one point, the game straight up froze for 3 seconds before correcting itself with background detail on ultra, so now I keep it on high with no issues afterwards.

Even on high, this game has the worst object pop-in I've seen in a game since Division 2. Doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the various gameplay systems, but it's there and it's noticeable.

No problem here on win11. What do you mean you barely get 60? It caps at 60 or struggles to achieve 60? What's the gpu and cpu usage when it happens?

What are your settings? Are you absolutely sure they're the same? Especially resolution scalling and anti aliasing type (dlss/taa). Just FYI, the game barely reaches 120fps in some places on rtx4090 here when DSR is at 100% at 4k (so native 4k, essentially DLAA, or a bit above 120 with TAA)

Is your monitor 120Hz or higher? If not, maybe something forces vsync despite in-game settings? Like in nvidia control panel (or amd counterpart - I haven't had a radeon since hd 6970, so 15 years)

I have not done a Windows 11 clean install yet wanted to test out reinstalling applications first. I reinstalled Nvidia Control Panel and App as well as all the drivers, Steam and the game, and removed any files left behind. No changes noticed after that.

I then ran a benchmark on GravityMark and notice the software states I'm getting 300FPS but Rivatuner OSD stats I'm getting a good 50 FPS. Reinstalled Afterburner and Rivatuner and no difference. This game literally ran so smooth on Windows 10 @120 FPS using VRR.

Surprisingly I'm still using my 75Hz monitor which shocked me on performance when the game ran on Windows 10 @120FPS using VRR. Waiting for a new oled monitor either way too so that'll be interesting to see the results. Settings were all high on Windows 10, now on Windows 11 the FPS does not improve even if I lower all the settings. It's drastic drops and out of wack between 15-60fps.

Tbh I could have told you this would have done nothing.

And you're not saying much now so what's your point?

If the only game you're having issues with is this, logically, why would changing os do anything?

Because it was running just fine on the previous os right before the upgrade. Read my guy!
After taking a break after doing what I've done, later last night I ran the game and it was running smooth now with Frames hitting @120 All high settings. CPU usage wasn't high anymore, and the GPU usage seems to be higher than it was as it should be.

But now of course to test this morning I wanted to see what happens and I am back with the frame drops, CPU usage high and GPU usage not hitting how it should. :steamfacepalm:
