FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH

FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH

Ending (SPOILERS)
Finally made it through. How are chapters 13 and 14 the same game as the rest? I enjoyed 13 and 14 pretty much. Characters felt alive and all that. It's just that anything before ch13 seems like it's been written by a different team or person where they didn't have enough time or budget.

So what actually happened at the end? Did anything happen at all besides Aerith dying. Or was everything just Cloud trippin and she was actually killed by Cloud? He didn't even receive holy materia in the end, so the one he sees is Jenova/Sephiroth instead of Aerith or what? I hope it doesn't end in some ambiguous 5D chess in part 3. Bonus question: Cloud didn't shed a tear, right?

Why does everyone forget that the Cetra are a faction at play?

did everyone ignore what gi nattack said?

As of now it looks like it's just cloud on shrooms. But there's probably a better explanation than that. Maybe you could help and explain?

we dont know the power of their influence on events are. but when your talking with Gi Nattack in cosmo canyon its the Cetra that send you out cutting your conversation short.

im just confused that most of these questions re around Aerith X sephiroth X Jenova. yet nobody mentions that the cetra are somewhere in the lifestream or another mirror world manipulating events.

dude, all cetra are dead, aerith was the last one.

All the lifestream thing its just a miriad of "what ifs" but reality is aerith is dead, theres no cetra and theres no worlds, and sefiroth will die as he always did in the OG in the north crater cave. All aside that is "fan fics" and all happens inside the lifestream but its like memories that anyone could have had but never were reality.

if we take what gi nattak says as truth. dead or not they may be an entire faction of force ghosts in the lifestream

and yeah the other worlds are what if and choices but the still play into the greater whole of the life stream. each world is real they eventually get drained back into the source world.

a lot of whats going on here is Very similar to FF14 shards and source

Not sure if I understood you correctly, but why would the cetra be interested in sephiroth getting the black materia? It's what "Aerith" gave Cloud. The part with Gi Nattak makes sense, since Cetra didn't want others to discover the black materia.

No one cares about the Cetra, because Aeris was the last Cetra. Just like how no one cares about Genesis and Angrael because Sephiroth was the only Jenova experiment, since Professor Gast was the head of the research department and he would never have authorized injecting Jenova cells into someone and that would go double after Lucrecia died giving birth to Sephiroth.

There's two points that you are not taking into account in that: Gast officially left Shinra after Sephiroth was born, so he could not stop experiments... And Lucrecia is alive and you can see her in the Crystal Cave in OG FFVII...

Even if I could be wrong with the Gast fact being canon (I know it happens in OG Crisis Core material), we have to take into account that the Gi are literally dead and still fighting, so we don't know if the Cetra could be in a similar state, be it in the Lifestream or in Gaia in some other way. And I should say that Genesis is another guy that should be cared about, mainly because he has a role in Dirge of Cerberus and during Intergrade we see that characters from there were made canon for this series too, changing a few things, so even if convoluted, Genesis may have a cameo somewhere (my take is that there will be some kind of remake of DoC, though so I still doubt it but not discard it fully).

Lucrecia not being dead dead is beside the point. And Sephiroth knew Gast and knew him well. There's a 10 year gap between Aeris's age and Sephiroth's. That's a long time for Gast to be in charge of the Research division and thus to have custody of Jenova's remains, preventing the creation of other Sephiroth like characters.

What's more, Hojo wouldn't be eager to create other beings like Sephiroth. Sephiroth is his son, and he wouldn't something to surpass his masterpiece.

Hojo doesnt give a single flying ♥♥♥♥ about sephiroth all he cares about is making the ultimate bio weapon.

and if expanded lore is to be believed he wants to become a god by taking control of omega

I'm unsure how much time it was between him leaving and him having Aerith, but after he left and Hojo and Hollander took charge, they would stop at nothing to get achieve their goals. And Hojo does not care about family, son or not Sephiroth is just another experiment and nothing is enough for a mad scientist of that kind, he could live a thousand lifes making bigger and bigger monsters hard enough to beat him and it would not be enough mainly because the perfection he seeks would never exist, if he could take control of Omega he would think another thing even bigger right at that moment...
