game is crashing after new update

game was fine and now it isn't. I have changed settings , disabled mods and even tried reinstalling compiling shades to no avail. Does somebody know whats causing it?

Solved

The long pauses and "crashes" are linked to monitor refresh rates not matching in game FPS. A fix for me was to change to refresh rate to the one that matches in game.

Do you have aby mods installed? A few people have said the new updates has broken many mids and are causing issue with people who have mods installed

i had a crap ton of mods installed. they all still seem to work

im just saying a lot of people are having issues with a few performance mods after the new update. now for me im having no issues but im also playing the game with zero mods

I also had the same crash. I re-verified the files, deleted all MODs, restored all NVIDIA settings, and it still crashed.

I had no mods at all, insta-crash on game load after update. Tried verifying files, updating all drivers, deleting shader cache...nothin'. Removing the game in it's entirety, and reinstalling now from scratch, we'll see if it works.

Are you getting any error messages when the game crashes?

The whole computer shuts down, leaving only the ARGB lights on. I have to turn off the power plug to restart it.

Mods don't work well with official updates. And you can't complain to modders or to game devs because modders do things to work as current state game band-aid hotfix patch.

no, it completely freezes my computer. I had a similar situation that has occured back when the game first released but what was causing it then is not causing it now.

as I said before, mods are not the issue. My frustrations are directly pointed toward square enix and no one else. I can't even finish the game because of this update.

Yeah, I keep crashing, as soon as I installed the update after a few minutes, the pc restarted. So it's the same. No mods.

Dynamic resolution minimum 50%
TAA
60 FPS
And medium or low Texture Resolution and ocean

Like this or everything on ultra PC crash and restarted :/

Happens if I play 30 min or 1h30.

Sounds like it might work but I am not trying to dull my experience.

The first time this happened, it was a v-sync issue. So I disabled it and everything worked.

Now, it wasn't the issue and I am back and square one.

if your PC is shutting down then it has nothing to do with the game but something is wrong with your PC as a whole
