Feeling Burnt Out at Chapter 11?
Hi all.
Wishing to remain constructive here. Has anyone else got to the point where they feel just... Done?
*Attempting to remain spoiler free*

Learning mini-games feels shallow IF they're only valid in one region of the map. Some of the regions have felt like a chore to navigate through, like bad design... Plus the overall pacing/polish has been grinding on my patience for a little while. Can't help but wonder if this was rushed for a release date?

Just got through a solo section with a character that I don't gel well with in regards to combat, which feels like it has been a bit of a slog. Up an elevator for a "surprise game" that you can't skip, then get to a room where a pass code has been written SOMEWHERE.

I just... Need the game to be interesting again.
Thoughts?

stop doing side content till hardmode? or wait till you beat the game go back to the last open chapter and do the quests then for hardmode.

Chapter select is a thing after you beat the game

I had this same feeling playing FF16 with all the samey side quests. What kept pushing me forward was the stories and gameplay being as good as they were.

Since you're not required to do everything unless you want the platinum trophy, don't force yourself to do everything as it's clearly not working for you.

This. Tower search etc grew old fast. Just skip it and return to it if you're feeling it

Im right after ch11 myself and its been a struggle for me at times too.
Ive been skipping most of side content since Gongaga already and it helped a bit. Currently im having a break from msq and im learning new piano song lol

It was hard playing and enjoying this game on PS5 when performance mode looked like it was 900p cause of TAA. On PC though with DLSS AA and 1440p, it's nice and crispy. That really helped with my enjoyment.
Yup I just finished Gongaga, and I'm tried of minigames. I do enjoy MMO type quests and open world stuff so the side quests/towers ect weren't too bad for me, it was the never ending barrage of minigames that got to me (and most side quests became minigames like the Gongaga Mushrooms, so I just go up to it and press Y right?.... nope)
I started off having every intent to do a first chill enjoy able play through, no stressing over missables, fomo did start to set in but then I remembered WHY I play games, to chill out. I can always get it on the HM play through (if I even do that, I do have a tradition of 100% FF games on Steam but eh what ever, when ever. Part 1 and 2 do have good chapter selection system that carries over progress unlike many games requiring a full 2nd step by step play through) I'll just check the rewards first, if it has a new weapon or good Materia, maybe, but if not skip.

I stopped doing the side content after the second area, I *Might* go back if I start having trouble iwth the plot. The side content is mostly boring anyway.
Imagine doing side content
Yeah Gonga killed it for me. The awful music, level design, and chicken/mushroom mini game combo. I'm done with it.
Full steam ahead now! I'm only stopping for story quests and Tifa-related quests, everything else can do one.

Without spoilers please, presumably I can go back to any side quests after completing the story?

This is my third run through (did normal and hard on PS5) and I did feel a bit burnt out around chapter 11 again. I am however 100%ing every zone as I go because I already know the story and everything. My best advice would be to just keep pushing the main story. You can come back to clean everything up once the story is over plus you will get more XP/AP this way.

Just do the side quests and protorelics. Ignore the rest of the world intel unless you really want Bahamut and Odin at max level. You'll be missing out on a bunch of equipment and materias but if you're playing normal or dynamic it won't matter too much. I too got burnt out by chapter 11 on my first playthrough but luckily Nibelheim wasn't a big region

Yes. After the game you'll make a save that states you've completed the game and get access to chapter select. If I remember correctly selecting either chapter 12 or 13 will put you at Costal de Sol and you can freely teleport anywhere to round up any side quests.

I still suggest doing the protorelics (espeecially Nibelheim as that's pretty interesting)

Thanks for your feedback, everyone!

I like the idea of coming back to select the content once the first playthrough is done - but if it doesn't pick up (even with skipping the side content) me thinks that's gonna be enough.

Plus, no amount of coffee will get me through THAT BIT of Chapter 11 a second time.

Lmao you have to do side content to prep or else some of the bosses will mess you up hard. We've been over this.
