any game similar to ff7rb? really enjoy this game!
im at chap 11 now, really like the game! i might do second playthrough but im kinda a story driven guy so im already thinking about what game i should do next.

i really looking forward to play more game like FF7RB, game with amazing characters, good story with decent lore. so what should i go next?

im not very familar with JRPG. i played FF7remake, some yakuza(0,kiwami and two judgement), and nier automata thats it.

Ha! I came to recommend Nier Automata, but looks like you already played it! Perhaps Metaphor ReFantazio which is a very popular recent release that almost won Game of the Year last year out of nowhere? Clair Obscur Expedition 33 launching shortly also looks very good.

There aren't really that many games in the same category as FF7R because it was such a popular game and the production values are through the roof. Also, many of the best JRPGs are older and/or turn-based, so that might set them apart from FF7R... but if you care mostly about the story and characters, there are so many fantastic ones to choose from! There are so many legendary stories to experience! Best genre ever!

Tales of Arise (and the whole series, but this one is most graphically advanced)
Suikoden 1 & 2 (remaster releasing soon!)
Xenogears & Xenosaga (my favorites - most ambitious sci-fi story ever attempted)
Xenoblade
Chrono Trigger
Live a Live
Valkyrie Profile
Grandia series
Star Ocean
Lost Eidolons
Persona series
Chained Echoes
Sea of Stars
... and of course, all the other Final Fantasies! 7, 8 and 10 are my favs.

Those are just the ones off the top of my head. There are many more!

Persona 5 is a pretty good bet, only real difference is real time battle vs. turn based.

wow thats impressive, thx for the list i'll check out these game!
turn based is not a problem for me, if story and characters are good then i can live with other stuff.

Check out the crisis core remaster. The combat is really similar, and the game is pretty good. It blew my mind in psp days. Grinding simulations in every waiting room known to man.

yeah Crisis core is a sure play but im not familar about the timeline of FF7. so i plan to play it after FF7 finish everything.

"Tales Of" series of games - you get random encounters and fight in real time inside mini arenas
Star Ocean series of games. the same as above

this may be a big stretch but the "Ys" series of games. fast paced action rpg with blocking and dodging mechanics

If you want a full on action RPG, you could try FF16 or Kingdom Hearts 2.

Hell yeah. You dont have to be super familiar with the story really since its a prequel and could technically stand on its own. Seeing as your on chapter 11 on this you already know the major players so you would be good. Game has some sick FMV's too.

they are all self contained stories so you can start anywhere. however there is a limited linking references.

Ys 8 is the Stand out hit of the series

im gonna add avoid 10 for now as there's a upgraded version slated to release eventually

ff16 is in my wishlist and plan to get it at sales. i heard the story was bit weak in the end so i have some doubts.

I did absolutely everything you could in a single playthrough in FF16. I really liked the main story, but many of the side quests were pretty weak even if the combat in those side quests was always enjoyable.
