Oh, & I suppose you have an assortment of various appropriate gaming peripherals for each minigame on standby just in case you ran into them? I bet you played the piano minigames with an actual piano-based controller or a Dance Dance Revo mat during the Juno parade or you somehow connected a canister to your PC when catching chickens in Gongaga?
It straight up warns you it will suck otherwise.
Why bother releasing it outside console platforms if it tells you to play it like one?
This is apparent with every game ported outside consoles. These modern lazy developers would rather offset optimizations to anyone stupid enough to carry it. No fúcking way am I playing it like I'm on a console when I have a goddàmn PC.

It fixed battle camera for me
Trying this one out...
... and it works; after taking control & positioning a character around a bunch of enemies, I tried attacking randomly while panning the camera towards a direction & the camera no longer randomly changes focus immediately, like from bird's eye view on the first frame to bottom view on the next frame or wherever. It immediately felt like I was playing Integrade.
I actually read about this mod days ago but I didn't see anything related to camera issues (or the issue I interpret to be having) because it says in the description that all it does is something to do with battles so I went right passed it. Seems like camera issues might be some sort of symptom of the problem the mod fixed (inadvertently?).
Tried playing the game without the mod, did the same thing & the camera felt like I was fúcking drawing circles with my mouse in rapid succession.
Steam really ought to stop being so sterile & make a beer award.
Only problem left is the targeting; when not locking on, it keeps tracking the same target even when I'm pointing my focus on a different target at the middle of my screen. It's sort of like a softlock but very sticky. Same case, not using lock on; sometimes the target is no longer in the screen yet it still selects it even when I'm directing my camera towards an enemy right in the middle of the screen. The camera isn't focusing on it but the targeting system still selects it.
I'll be scouring for any existing fix for this but if anyone's already found one, I'll immediately look in to it.
Game controllers on PC predate the modern "games console". They have made the game playable on PC without a gamepad, but they have warned you that it's meant to be played with one for a good experience.
What more do you want? Try playing iRacing with a mouse and keyboard, see how you do. I have a gamepad for gamepad games, I have a wheel for racing games, I have a mechanical keyboard and a razer mouse for fps/mmo/rts games, you use the right tool for the job.
That's because they didn't optimize the game to where they plan to port it. All they did was the bare minimum; make it playable outside consoles. If developers were diligent & did things properly, why do you think people would resort to using mods in the first place?
iRacing is a racing simulator. Using a pedal/wheel combo is just for total immersion. You can actually use mouse/keyboard to play it, it's a fùcking racing game. How complicated would controllers need to be for racing games?
In fact, I'll do you one better; a more fitting example would be RTS games. You try playing them using gamepads & sEe HoW yOu Do.
I'll wait...
