FF7 Remake required dx12 and i've played on dx11 graphic cards. They just want to sell new graphic cards, do you really think that games graphics are evolving? Raytracing and Mesh Shaders of RTX series dont deliver good results, the reflection on older games was better than now, for a casual player it makes no difference at all.
In the past, developers optimized games to provide better graphics, even with all the limitations. Just look at what they managed to do on the PS3 and Xbox 360 with GTA V, MGS V, The Last of Us and other games, there is no limitation, just laziness of the developers.
Bruh i sail the seas too but come on. You're angry because they wont release a patch that let's you play a PS5 game on the PC gaming equivalent of a PS1?
It's not because you're a gamer that you know how to maintain/make games, and that you know what's best for them. This is akin to saying you're a doctor because you touch yourself everyday. ;p
Alan Wake 2 developer made, and its run fine. and iam a dev myself.
and its runs Alan Wake 2. They are forcing a upgrade.
GTX 10 runs Alan Wake 2
Two of those generations come off as useless and they're the most recent ones so ...
Sure, but not exceptionally well.
If you were a dev you'd know that the two pipelines need different code to work. They chose to only focus on DX12, not 11. There are many reasons why they might do this including it being cheaper to develop.
The GTX 1XXX series is OLD. VERY OLD. There have been several leaps in technology since then and even the budget consoles have stronger hardware in them than a GTX 1XXX series of any kind.
People are going to have to get used to needing new hardware for new games going forward. If you can't afford that then get a console or look into streaming video games through services like Nvidia's or the now defunct (rightfully so) Stadia.
