RTX HDR - Enabled
Leaving this here in case anyone else tries to go through the process.
Download FFVIIHook - INI and dev console unlocker from Nexus
(we need this to enable cvar edits in the engine.ini file provided)
Disable ingame HDR with this input;
[ConsoleVariables]
r.HDR.EnableHDROutput=0

Now you should be able to use RTX HDR!
Values I've been using;
Peak Brightness: 1000
Middle Grey: 47
Contrast: 50
Saturation: -25

(looks washed out compared to SDR but i'll let just let my eyes bleed. your mileage may vary.)

I did some reading for visuals,blur, shadows etc... since we are already doing cvar edits might as well include these for clarity/improvements.

Rtx HDR has more settings to adjust than the in game HDR. It will take a hit on your GPU though. Special K also has a disable in game HDR function.

What's wrong with the built-in HDR?
I just turn RTX HDR on, works fine for my uses. And yeah it does wash things out a little bit but that's what the saturation slider on RTX HDR is for.

I don't really get the washed out look with in game HDR, but i did have to adjust " white stabilizer" on my tv so maybe that helped it a bit.
Is the color supposed to be inconsistent with this rtx hdr? When the cam is facing towards the sun, the overall color tone becomes cooler. When the cam is facing away from the sun, the overall color tone is warmer.

Maybe this feature needs nvidia dynamic vibrance to work properly

Same. One of the best looking HDR PC games at the moment, for sure.

I suspect that OP is one of those who had trouble using the native HDR since, for some reason, HDR is finicky in Remake and Rebirth and sometimes people have trouble enabling it. Not sure of the specifics, myself, since it is working for me.

I have tested Special K tool. I think it is the best way to modify HDR feature in this game. You can turn down native HDR, set it to scRGB, reduce brightness and boost saturation with this tool.
