I NEVER said she loves Zack more or is NOT interested in Cloud.
I was just confused because of the "Do you still like him?" "Maybe" in the english version.
While they say "do you still like him?" - "yes, I think so." in japanese.
And I play the german subtitle version with japanese voices where Cloud directly says:"Do you still LOVE him? (LIEBST du ihn immer noch?)" - "Yes I think so" (JA, ich denke schon).
It was just a misunderstanding with the others and I never meant to interpret something deep, but I don't know how to explain it to you. You don`t seem to understand my intention.
I never meant to say the translations are bad or something, I was just confused. Nothing deep to interpret in.
Again: I never said Aerith loves Zack and has no eyes for Cloud because of that.
Nothing else. I didn't interpret more into it. My answer was just right to the OP thread.
He is afraid of a bro code although SHE wants all the attention from him (instead of Cloud trying to "steal" her or clingy to her). And all I wanted to say is she still has feelings for/thinks about Zack. No wonder when she visits his hometown/parents.
And I don't even know if she tells Cloud she loves him, too, because I'm in chapter 10.
All I know is she really likes Cloud, he reminds her of her first love, she wants to see him smile, she wants to date him and wants to spend time with him, he was "annoyed" sometimes, but now he finally opens up a little more. Of course we can clearly see that she really likes Cloud a lot, too.
When I want to spend a lot of time with a man, of course I am interested in him and maybe like him more than just a "bro" or "good friend". She openly says it to others ("yay, I have a date with Cloud!").
So don't worry if you think I don't see it or don't understand it.
I played OG so many times and Crisis Core 1-2 times, I know what's going on there. But I just want to focus on Remake/Rebirth this time. If I remember correctly she said in OG to Cloud on the playground infront of Wallmarket:"It was nothing serious (Zack)", maybe that's why I liked how Aerith was more open about it in Remake/Rebirth.
I only know she thinks about her first love, too.
People aren't limited to only one partner in life and has the right to find another love in life. If she finds her first love again or another person - good for her. So nothing big to discuss in my opinion.

I'd agree with you if she were an actual person. Luckily, she does not exist, so I can simply focus on the fact that she is a sexually mature, attractive female. Fictional characters cannot be harmed or preyed upon, and that kind of protectiveness (in this situation) is highly irrational.
