we need more filler
the first part was clearly not enough filler for us, i need more assassin creed towers to climb and more rocks to scan.

i cant wait for part 3. Hopefully they make snowboarding only accessible if we scan enough rocks and climb enough towers to unlock it first.

Well, they had to fill it with something? In the og it was just empty space between major locations. Wouldn’t be much of a remake otherwise would it?

yeah the first part was def too linear, a lot of small hallways from one place to the next and very little to do in them besides fight 3 battles, solve your hand-crane puzzle, then go to the next point.

considering part 3 should be more open world, expect more, i am excited to see what other things they let us do.

Who asked for the towers and rock scanning? Certainly not people in the demo that this game was targeted for. They could have....gasp.....just let you battle on your way to each new city.

So much awful and boring filler in this game. Cait Sith crate minigames were also some of the worst as well. "Flying" the Tiny Bronco, when you literally don't have any control and its auto pilot mode is more wasted dev time.
You are missing the big picture here. You can't just have more filler. You need to ask yourself how you can incorporate more of Yuffie and Chadley into the filler.

It's not FFVII if it doesn't have largely unimportant original characters taking up a ridiculous amount of your screen time. (Except Leslie because they dont care about finishing his arc.)

We need Chadley to tell us about the towers, Yuffie to tell us she is better than you at climbing them. Then when you get to the top you'll find Andrea and Madame M. playing Queen's Blood. They will then give you a quest to go find a "mercenary" who can't be bothered to fight some monsters, and when you are done with all of that you will be awarded a trinket that you can look at anytime you visit Johnny's hotel.

Then you just have to do that like 8 or 9 times for every region...

judging by reviews: the people did.

and lets not pretend fighting from aeriths house to the market was partiuarly interesting, it was just a linear hallway.

the classic had a similar issue with the open world just being empty save from random encounters, doing away with those and actually giving you reasons to explore feels a lot better to the players.

they could have mixed it up a bit with the ammounts in the zone, sure, but giving you optional things to do is nice.

yea, they couldve filled the world with actual things to do and explore. imagine if all chadley world intel materia and VR combat challenges were put into idk. the open world? but nah. thats crazy. need more checklists instead because ubisoft is peak open world design
Also we need longer animations for the filler. 45 seconds to pull out the radio and use it to activate the tower, then put the radio away, then take the radio back out to listen to whatever stupid thing Chadley has to say isn't long enough. We need a more elaborate radio that takes longer to take out and activate.

Do they at least take away any player control? I am making sure they take away player control while using the radio before buying.

Climbing towers is way too easy and you are on top too fast.
In part 3 i expect some kind of minigame to access them or at least quick time event while you're climbing.

Also i dont know how come scanning rocks is so easy. They need to make it on par at least with synchronizing summons, but i think making both harder would be better
the filler kinda makes it feel like a yakuza game at times so I fw it

I wouldn't mind it as much if it wasn't for Chadley. This ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ guy is the most annoying peace of ♥♥♥♥ ever.
I really hope they tone this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ down in game 3.
