Tips for fight with Scarlet please

I'm at the stage where we play as Aerith, Tifa & Yukki and we're fighting Scarlet while she's in some giant robot machine. However it seems some of her moves are just plain unavoidable... I'll admit, I'm not the best at FF7 when it comes to the combat, I know the bare basics such as enemy weaknesses and such.. But what am I supposed to do when it comes to Scarlet using her beam? I cant side step out of it, dodging doesnt help either, I tried using Aeriths bodyguard and nothing - it goes straight past me

Parry materia is your best tool in the game and should be on everyone
Block materia is also very good and should be on most players

so parry or block the attack i take it her shield ward didnt work.


ps the ai with parry materia maxed out are extremely consistent at perfect blocking attacks. and if you have block materia on them too it will reduce the damage on failed perfect blocks
