I didn't like the whole final part (Spoilers)

They have censored the impalement of Aeris and even avoided it, I don't know if it's censorship or that they didn't want that, but it is perhaps the central moment of FFVII and they have ruined it to put in its place a series of smokes of alternative realities etc., that are not relevant, in the end everything remains as it is, this is the story but at the same time it is another, and this character has died but at the same time not, and all this leads to the story being in an ambiguity that is neither forceful nor shocking because everything is possible. Anyway, it's just my opinion, I did not like at all what they have done in the final part, besides the Forgotten Capital was one of my favorite locations and they have not even let us explore it and on top of that they have ruined it by taking away all the mystery and magic it had. I stick with the story of the original totally.

It was made very apparent from Chapter 2 in remake that this is not the original story and yet people are continually surprised by that, this does not change the original story, that is a world that has accepted its fate. Zacks running around too but no one is using that as an example of something to not like. Think of this as happening after advent children.

This is a different story and its probably best to wait until the story has finished being told before deciding how relevant things in the middle of it are.

As far as censorship goes, Square don't control that, different countries have different laws surrounding this, they simply have to abide by them or push the age ratings up, that particular scene showed people Cloud saving Aerith shortly followed by the world merging into the OG and showing her death and right after it Sephiroth blatantly states that "Moments of joy quickly vanish replaced by sadness" this is literally what happens with that scene.

everyone wanted cloud to save aerith this go around and he did but the wispers changed fate aeriths fate back to normal. thats why she died with zero wounds.

it was the whispers that killed aerith this timeline not sephiroth blade. he was as far as i know in control of the whispers so he still did it in a sense.


this whole scene set up a huge multiverse of reality where clouds see aerith killed.


imo theres a bit too much ff14 in this game writing. sephiroth is a ascian and the reunion is just a different word for rejoining as Gaia seemingly is in a multi-phase life-stream linked shards of itself.

I'm not complaining about the new inclusions in the story, in fact in most cases things are better told and completed, the problem is that Aerith's death has been censored out reducing the impact and altering the very meaning of it.

altering the meaning of her death was the whole point! yeesh

and shes not even truely dead this time. she like sephiroth now. or atleast this version of her is. just joins to join the aerith in control of the white whispers (unless they were under the power of gaia)

and its highly likely she will be in zacks universe taking over that coma aeriths body to do what she can from there with him

also you must remember from remake that this aerith already knew pretty much everything thats going to happen. but the whispers took that part of her memory

They never censored it to begin with.

Aerith needed to pray with her holy materia in the Rebirth world in order to be able to do the same whatever it is that Sephiroth is up to, the holy materia in the main Rebirth world as well as the black materia are fake but "keys to unlock the real thing", Aerith needed to get her real materia in there in order to combat Sephiroth and he thought he had got rid of her yet when she appears he says "I have to admit I underestimated you"

The full reason for all of this is in the next game.

I'm not sure if many people are grasping that the Remake world ends with a giant tornado and Rebirth begins with a giant tornado having wrecked the place and all the characters unconsious, this is the world that Aeriths holy materia is real.

In the original Sephiroth runs Aeris through with his sword, not here, and there is a kind of vision where you see blood but at no point do you see him running through it with the sword. It's called CENSORSHIP.

She didn't get impaled is the thing, Cloud stopped the blade, this happened, the entirety of our Rebirth journey has happened in the same space of time as Zack has carried Cloud and Aerith to safety, washed their faces and then gone to look for a cure.

She still gets impaled in the OG but this isn't the OG and if people refuse to accept this they are going to be dissapointed.

When Aerith first gets to the temple of ancients she puts her hand on the ground and says "finally" and is then able to manipulate the temple at will (She also does Yuna's summoning dance, In the OG she can't really understand the planet and runs around a bit and when you get to the temple all the passage ways are already in order, its like the midgar zolum, in the OG you arrive and its already on the tree. There are a lot of things that make me think this is happening AFTER Advent children.
