Losing progress/saves?

Heyoh

So, started up the game today and apparently it had somehow messed up savegames overnight.. So, it asks me whether i want local or cloud, and i pick cloud, since that one is the most recent.

And still, apparently i just lost about 10-12 hours of progress, somehow???

Got absolutely no idea how it could mess up this bad.. My internet works just fine and all.
Anyone else have this happen to them?

usually when there is a disconnect, you should pick local, because the way that cloud saves work, is that they copy your local files. The local saves are the source, so they will 99% of the time be the most recent save.... regardless of what steam says about the dates.
