Crash on Sephiroth Vs "Cloud" cutscene?

The game has crashed twice on me. First when battling up to the Mt. Nibel Reactor prior to the bridge collapse scene.. the game operated but went dark... figured that was my screen recorder.. turning it off solved that. BUT I got a fatal error when at the end of the scene where Sephiroth was squaring up with Cloud. This is at the beginning of the game.. cannot push through.. bug fix plz??!!??

I had the same issue. I overcame that with skipping the video. When the sequence starts press and hold the skip button.

Tried 5 damn times now.. LITERALLY Unplayable for me... been waiting a year to play this... and AVID FFVII lover... FAAAAACK!!!!!!!!!!!!! Verified files and everything else!! Went through the most recent update before playing so dunno if that intro'ed a bug. either way... CRAP MAN!!!! Been so looking forward to this!

Fixed the issue following this advice!

"another thing to try, sometimes the way steam patches can screw up engine files (rare) but deleting the folder "binaries" from "*\FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH\End" then verifying the game to replace it can potentially fix any bad files that were constructed improperly."
