Lossless Scaling
Hey, everyone have stability issues when running lossless scaling for frame generation? Any workarounds? It seems like when I hop in and out of menus, LS wigs out.

I would really love to run the game at 50fps locked, boosted up to 100. 100fps w/ LS looks smooth, and for this RPG it's relatively OK for the slight increase in input lag (one frame). I'm thinking that this would cut down a little bit on the frame time variance because you know... Unreal stutters.

Yes had the same issue on RTX4080 with i10900k, there is a cost to using loseless scaling people are not always aware of that so if you are close to 50-60 fps it will tank your performance just a bit before applying new framerate, this will cause stuttering (and if you are sensitive to that like I am you will prefer stable 60). For me at least I could achieve 4k max settings stable at 60 fps, but you have to cap the frame rates outside in Nvidia Control Panel and I had to deactivate in game vsync, it can also help stabilize things to have your monitor set at 60hz depending on how your setup is already configured, hope this helps!

I run it flawless with 1080p monitor @2k - high/medium settings
no framerate cap
VRR on - gsync
NIS 1x - FG x2
all smooth, everything almost at 100/110 fps
no stutters

optiscaler is better for this game.

I used this video to help me download frame gen and dlss4.
Very smooth and stable, getting over 180-220 fps or more.
Using an rtx 4090 with 9800x3d at 4k.

Optiscaler breaks the HUD. And HUD Fix breaks the frame gen. If you're using HUD fix on Optiscaler and think FG is running just because the FPS counter doubled, I've got a bridge to sell you.

Agree. Optiscaler is working but Frame generation breaks the hud and the hud fix drops your fps and the generated frames "stops", it feels kinda laggy. Lossless scaling is 10.000 times better.

Really? It works ok when you're going in and out of menus?

I have a VRR monitor and I frame cap it at 50 w/ nvidia control panel. my monitor is 120 gsync. Unreal just has inherent stutters (shader compilation is awful, and the pre-bake step is woefully insufficient). I'm trying the 50fps cap to try to reduce the frame-time variance magnitude and then using frame gen to get it up to 100fps for smoothness. Just trying to think outside the box to mitigate Unreal Engine shenanigans.
Yes, latest patch has basically made LL useless for me. I used it for Sharpening for TAAU and Frame Gen. But I'm also running the Win11 24H2 patch as well. Too late to revert the patch now, just kinda stuck until MS finally decides to fix it.

Edit: Never really explained my issue. Within minutes of being in game, itll start freezing. Alt+Tabbing will get it going again usually, but with each freeze the Frame Gen gets worse. Stable 120fps using LL Frame Gen and after about 3-4 freezes i'll hover around 90fps, continuing to worsen with each freeze.

OK, so an interesting fix.... I ended up reinstalling my NVIDIA driver. Back to working for the most part again. Still. I get the sense that this game is somewhat temperamental...
