Hard drive broken ? Use a SSD for this game and try a different one if you have.
17-20 minutes are way too long.
Normal must be 5 - 10 secounds.

Dude got this game installed on AWS S3 Glacier or something. Buy a Gen 5 NVMd SSD kid. Even the non-toy consoles use NVMd SSD's.

Hard drive is recommended NOT using in 2025 and onward PC titles you'll want to make the generational jump sooner rather than later if you wish to keep up with AAA games. And YES I know PC gamings expensive and YES I know its hard to get parts. And NO AAA gaming isn't about to go back 20 years to pick up outdated hardware, and YES old hardware is pretty much ewaste.

you sure it's not a western digital 2tb HDD ?
if the game is taking this long to load, it's on your side bud, 100%.
You ought to solve it. ^^ Am not sure how you'd assume it's the game's problem.

SHould not take that long, even on a regular hard drive.

regular HDD is 20-35 secs. You will have pop in take some more tiem to load due to speed. Laptop HDD may take a lot longer.

ATA SSD 9-12 seconds

1000MB+ ssd 3-8 seconds

Either your SSD is on its way out or something else is causing your system to bog down. Have you checked for malware and the like?

All other games work fine including FF7 remake.

An NVMe with a speed of 3500 MB/s takes 2-7 seconds to load the game, whether I'm using fast travel or loading a save file. I think a regular SSD with 520 MB/s would work fine for this game as well. Avoid using an HDD for AAA games

I have the same issue, with the game installed on an NVME SSD. The initial loading takes 10 min, everything runs smoothly after that.
I have an old CPU though, but I don't see why it would be responsible for that

With 17 minute load times, I'd bet it's installed on a tape drive.

what game supports Pcie Gen 5 Nvme SSD's ? i dont know any.
