I had to disable the engine.ini mod, after I updated the directstorage and direct3d12.dll stuff. I was getting errors and image corruption.
I'm on a GTX 1070

apperently theres a fix for 16xxx and 980 series due to them having mesh-shaders. as to 1000 series not, until/unless an update/patch is made. or the user upgrades. I'm waiting on S.E to do a proper fix/patch

theres this youtube vid

The fix is available for the 16xx series because those graphics cards support mesh shaders, while the 10xx series and older ones do not. Stop believing the false claim that the GTX 980 can run FF7 Rebirth. Have you even seen the website with that 'info' on how to make a 980 run the game? Don’t waste your time – there will be no fix for 10xx or older graphics cards.

Did you try the trick from the video you shared? The game won't run on a card older than the 16xx series. Next time, be cautious before believing something as questionable as 'GTX 980 has mesh shaders and can run FF7 Rebirth,' because scammers often use this kind of misinformation to trick you into downloading files that could contain viruses.

GTX 980, like every other graphics card below the 16xx series, does not support mesh shaders, so stop spreading these lies. But maybe you can share where you got this info from, claiming that the GTX 980 supports mesh shaders, when even the newer GTX 1080 cards didn’t support this technology?

Either you're benefiting from spreading the nonsense about GTX 980, which is why you have a private profile and are promoting that scam here.

you cannot run this game on a 1070, period. ^^''
1650 came out three years after, it has some things the 1070 does not. It's one generation up over a 1070. 9 years old GPU, it's time to upgrade friend. ><

Alright, just be careful on the internet, and when it comes to mods that make the game work, it's definitely better to download them from NexusMods rather than from some YouTube videos. And the guy who claimed online that a GTX 980 could run FF7 Rebirth only had ads on his website, which caused a lot of laughter among some people on Steam, which is understandable

Word, thanks. Right. Its been only the last year or so, I've had to tinker with a few tittles to get a game to work. I get it, you're just looking out for community members and with my profile set to private made your question me.

1070 can run almost every game, so its not. upgrade It should be a possibility not an obligation.

The game uses mesh shaders as everyone has pointed out. But it's not the only part of the DirectX 12 Ultimate API it uses.

The game uses Mesh shaders (prob the most important part, esp for performance), as well as sampler feedback, and variable rate shading. I figured this out by capturing a few frames of data while running the game with Microsoft PIX (software for debugging the performance of Direct3D 12 apps).

All of which are meant for improving performance / optimization.

Yeah there's actually technical information behind what I said. FF7Rebirth uses technologies that are unsupported by a 1070, and you know, I'd rather have the benefits of these new technologies rather than them catering to you so you can run the game. ^^''

Like, these options are mutually exclusive, which is what you don't seem to understand. >//<
Your "consumer rights" attitude doesn't trump my own rights to experience my hardware to its fullest extent ? :P

no, "my card can run cyberpunk at 120 fps and it looks better than this" is not an argument ;p
