Just use keyboard for it. 100x time easier than controller
This was a million times easier on PC. Without those stupid dual sense triggers it's just as difficult as rank 2.

Optional mini game you dont have to do it, i did it, was hard but somehow i did it.
The issue isn't the mini game, the problem is they HIDE the prompts... personally i used a cheat to bypass it. no time for that crap... in fact been using it to skip alot of the ♥♥♥♥ mini games... like the stupid wild run, and yes the body builder crap... frankly i don't see the appeal so i skipped it.

Ya know what? i don't even feel bad about it =3
Skill issue.
Absolutely hated that minigame on ps5 but on pc I destroyed it in 2 tries by switching to keyboard. Adaptive triggers are so annoying. I also wish the buttons were swapped so r1 and l1 was on top as I always end up pressing the wrong button when a reactive input showed up, my brain see it on top and just autopilot to the r1 button.

They hide the prompts because the success is behind rhythm and speed. You don't need to look at the prompts.

If it's not about the prompts then it should be no issue to keep them displayed? If it's about rhythm then why are they constantly switching the order and making you stop to spam a button to interrupt your rhythm? If it's about speed then why do they slow you down so much at the beginning or when you fall to slow you down completely?

Some folks need to accept that this minigame is bad development and I love FF7. This is the equivalent of trying to count out something difficult and someone just yelling numbers at you while pushing you. Can it be done eventually, sure, but not admitting there is a problem is astonishing.

Hot take but mini-games do not have to be perfect-precision difficulty spikes like Dark Souls.
Thank god, i an cheat numbers easy to beat those minigames. I hate minigames.
I managed after a couple tries but I had to switch from controller to mk+b. Rhythm games are my jam and I use keyboard for them mostly. And it also felt to me like my controller wasn't sensitive enough for the multiple presses which messed me up on speed or it registered an input too early.
I remapped top left to W, bottom left to L, top right to P and bottom right to L.
Then it was just about making sure I don't lose the rhythm. So if you're having issues with it then maybe changing to mk+b is gonna help.

Tip. You can go fast as early as you think and by the time it's at fastest your controller should sound like a horse running

This is EXACTLY how I do it.

My wife was having trouble with this minigame, but she's going through chemo. while she was AFK i did the hardest one on my first try. i guess playing guitar for 2 decades and guitar hero back in the day helps with games like that.

we should carry a mattress around with us everywhere after what they did to our childhood. these minigames are GARBAGE tier. push a soccer ball into a hole? seriously did they have to justify their junior staff existing and have them make the same shovelware that no one bought in the jewel cases at wal mart?

also, i've noticed she's spent about 3x more time playing minigames than actually fighting in a FINAL FANTASY game.

Wait until 3D brawler and you will know what is garbage tier.

Some folks need to accept they're just not as good as they think. This mini game was fun and easy for me. Yeah, the button prompts change as you go up in difficulty, but the rhythm will remain the same as does the speed. I guess some people just can't do it.
This minigame is near effortless on a keyboard.
Way easier than in Remake, which also was not that hard
