Gold Saucer "Date Night" Relationships Locked?

Really? It gives me Red 13 as the only option for date night? I've maxed out everyone's relationships, their icons are all the same color. But when I did the Queens blood match against him his changed to a lighter shade of blue... Did this somehow just make him my date? Huh?

I scoured the entirety of the Gold Saucer before doing the "date" (reloaded) and couldn't find anyone else to bump their relationships save for Yuffie , beat her in the fighting game and her icon stayed the same color. Aerith wouldn't even talk to me.

Idk what you've been doing with Red in your spare time, but my date was Tifa

I talked to everyone throughout all of the "social" events.
Reading through some of the walkthroughs apparently your top relationship is a lighter shade of blue - does it lock this selection in? I had Tifa on the previous cutscene in Nibelheim then somehow Red 13 inserts himself into date night... Seriously...

If you're at the point where the date happens you're locked into it, though end game gives chapter select and the option to pick any date, it doesn't change anything else in the game narrative other than you're now spending some quality time with a labrat dog.

if i'm not mistaken, when everyone has max relationship, it defaults to the last person to receive a boost in the relationship. so if you have sidequests for the one you want, or synergy attacks you never used between cloud and them, doing it might change.

A little odd that it decided to max on Red13 but he's a good character with a fun story at least I guess. He was excited to go to the show and spend time on the wheel. Good to see him happy after being stuck in a lab for however long.

Not that it was a Mass Effect or Saint's Row style "event" so - WHO"S A GOOD BOY!
