In-depth tests of DLSS 4 Transform vs 3.7 CNN
I want to post and share my in-depth tests on various versions of DLSS, as they can surely be useful to many people. I believe they can be helpful because they are not just 10-minute tests in a single portion of the game like those from various specialized sites.

So, I'll start by describing how I conducted the tests. I naturally tested the 3.7 CNN model that comes with the game at its 1.0 version. Then, in the days leading up to the release, I tried the beta of DLSS 4 (the one that reviewers worldwide had for the 5090 reviews), and of course, since yesterday, I've been testing the first version of DLSS 4.0 for about 10 hours.
Let's say the tests amount to about 50 hours divided into the first three regions of the game in various types of scenarios.

First, let's confirm that DLSS 4, in many cases, surpasses the image quality of DLSS 3.7, even at presets that were not previously considered for certain resolutions. For example, DLSS Performance was only considered for 4K resolution, but with this new version of DLSS, it can also be used at lower resolutions like 1080p or 1440p while maintaining good quality.

As for performance, NVIDIA engineers still have work to do because, in most cases, it either matches the performance of DLSS 3.7 CNN or is slightly inferior. DLSS 3.7 is the one we all know, but by thoroughly testing and comparing it with DLAA (setting min and max to 100%), you can achieve the same visual results as DLSS 4, without the blurry colors and loss of definition, such as in hair, which I'm sure everyone has noticed. (quality- balanced)

I don't feel ready to recommend DLSS 4 for Rebirth in this first version because, in many cases, it causes pronounced stuttering, even when the 1% low is very close to the frame drop. It is still immature, but there are interesting results for the future.

So, I feel that for a stutter-free experience and excellent visual quality, I recommend the old 3.7 CNN model with the use of DLAA. It will give you a truly high-level experience. Clearly, to handle this game with DLAA, you need a PC that is quite capable of handling heavy games that are coming out, but nothing too prohibitiv.

TEST PLATFORM :

I7 9700K (OC 5.1 GHZ)
RTX 4060TI 16 GB
RAM 64 GB CORSAIR
SSD SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS

( I included the disk because a good disk is necessary for texture streaming )

BONUS TIP : IN REBIRTH, IT'S BETTER TO USE VRR INSTED OF V-SYNC
