If you need a refresher course: the definition of of without is "in the absence of; outside; without it being the case that".
In this instance, I was seeking the solution without fast travel. Meaning slow travel. Meaning on foot. Meaning the long way. Meaning not fast travel. One would think that because I specified this in my question, that I had a reason for doing so. One who had a basic handling on the English language, anyway.
The only way is by fast travel if you don't want to walk down the mines, because the other route is blocked off until AFTER the Gold Saucer since it has debris that require a vehicle (Buggy) you get AFTER the Gold Saucer events... To finish Johnny's hotel mission you need to get the Buggy btw, so no point in actually going back until you finish Gold Saucer and unlock the buggy.
So, yes, the only way without going physically back down the mountains, the sole path, is via fast travel (assuming it isn't disabled at this point). It is weird you even asked "without fast travel" to begin with as that, inherently, makes no sense in its own rights...
I mean, really, asking "guys, can I get from point A to B when there is only one route, without actually taking that route nor teleporting?" is an amazing question... but not in a "good" way.
I wouldn't go around biting the hands that attempt to feed you next time you ask for help, especially when they went out of their way to kindly advise and did no harm quite unlike your behavior.
