If ever there was a quest that should have been called "Padding for time" this is it. Unless the reward is like out of this world eff your stupid "bring my chicken from the middle of the jungle 20x farther than the 3 before it young man" up your azz granny.

The chicken quest is actually kind of popular. People hate it until the very end but then are quite pleased with the end of it from what I've read.

It is basically Square Enix trolling and the ending being so unexpected and epic.

If you haven't finished it check back in this thread with your thoughts after, without spoiling it for others though lol.

Nah. I am not walking all the way back to the town a few steps at a time, not counting the times the chicken loses interest. It also sounds like you haven't completed the quest yourself lol.

The chicken quest had me laughing the whole time. Especially once I got to the last chicken.

The time padding on this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ absurd and disgraceful. i am at a loss for why it is roundly celebrated. everything, from the time it takes to open a chest to the time it takes to climb up one of those stupid towers is time padded. and the vast majority of the game is garbage fetch quests and minigames.

imagine.. just imagine if they had made 1 60 hour game with the full ff7 story. no crap. but games developers don't know what side of the bread is buttered.

Because that's how a lot of classic RPG's were. They were known for having lots of side quests and minigames and optional content. But the content is exactly that, optional. Some of the minigames do require you do a small portion of them for story progression, but for the most part, you can just breeze through them and ignore them.

Don't like the minigames and side quests? Fine, set your difficulty to 'dynamic' and just skip them all and stick to the main story. But here's the shocker, a lot of people actually like all the side content and minigames. Myself included.

So. I went back and did it because i needed the party xp. I will admit i jumped to conclusions about the prospect of dragging the stupid clanger all the way back. I can admit when I did a dumb.
