Camera spasming during combat
I just got done with playing through intergrade. Had no issues, but now that I moved onto rebirth they have done something to the camera during combat. For some reason the camera keeps refocusing under the character I'm controlling. I have tried turning stuff off in setting, with nothing fixing this. I've tried to search this on google with the only option being to constantly lock onto my target, and if i want to focus on something else to attack I have to unlock, and re lock to a new target. So far this is the only fix I found, but the combat in intergrade had no issues like this with the camera during combat. It feels really awful. I'm not sure why the devs took a step back with this. Does anyone know a way to make it feel more like the first game. The camera spasming out constantly is making it difficult to play the game.

I have camera repositioning off and after lock on I can change targets with a tap of the right stick. One time when I was switching characters quickly it started spazzing out, but only happened once

Yeah I'm on keyboard, and mouse. I tried turning that on/off,but the camera keeps jumping around, and when it jumps it places itself under cloud all the time. Its nearly unplayable for me.

Controller is more fun, you got one option

I cant stand playing a controller, and i dont see how that would make the camera stop jumping around. Its not a controller or keyboard thing, its the way they changed the camera during combat in rebirth. It was completely fine in intergrade.

IDK why either, but no problems for me except that one instance

yea ive been trying to find a solution to this since i got the game which ive been playing since release its super frustrating this game is not meant to played on K&M unfort i dont have a controller myself but i guess i have to buy one atp because thats what it heavily asks for which doesnt make sense because its a PC port lol. Would also disagree as someone whos played on console for 10 years K&M is better remake doesnt have this issue or any of the FF games its just rebirth is bugged the ♥♥♥♥ out

yeah, sadly I have to agree with you. I'm really sick of these games saying it can be played on pc,but after I buy,and install the game it says oops its best with a controller. If I wanted to play with a controller I would just buy it for console, but I'm a pc player, and feel better with M+K. The camera jumping around makes playing rebirth so frustrating. I can't concentrate on the battle when the camera jumps everywhere then for some reason re aligns itself directly under clouds feet like how do you get porting to pc this badly? I couldn't take it anymore, and just bought a 40$ controller for my pc even though i don't feel comfortable with controllers.

Honestly seems like there was absolutely no playtesting done with keyboard/mouse. I have the exact same issue and no i do not want to buy a controller just to play the game, what a horrible advise. I also do not want to have to focus an enemy everytime i fight, Id like to continue playing the way i want to play but i guess that is just not possible anymore. Mouse is also very weird in other places in this game, which makes no sense considering the first part had really good mouse support imo. Disappointed in this.. :/

Well I didn't decide to get a controller just to play rebirth. I keep runing into this issue sometimes where I get a game, and its just so badly ported to pc. Like monster hunter worlds I bought that game then refused to play it cause it felt like crap on K+ M cause it was meant for controller. I got one cause im sick of those situations for the games I get on steam that are terrible at porting to pc,but I really cant be bothered playing rebirth if the camera wont stay still its just gonna get worse as I get into harder boss fights too. I rather save the frustration and see if a controller stops it from jumping.

Yea i get that. From what i see is you can fix the camera here by "focussing" on any enemy. (middle mouse button by default) That makes the camera normal for me. I really dont like doing that though and ive never used that in the first part so its annoying im kinda being "forced" to use it if i want to enjoy this game.
At this point i just think its a bug and i hope they fix it soon but knowing SE and how long they took to fix other bad ports i really dont have my hopes up sadly..

Yeah it feels even worse when you just finished the first part of the game which had no issues, then start up rebirth, and the combat feels 10 times worse than the first game. I hope it is just a bug,and they will fix it. I can't imagine the pc player base being happy with this. I can see lot of players refunding over this if its left alone. There does seem to be a lot of bugs in rebirth though I am running across like fps loss in some areas when I'm running a 3070 gpu with a 32 ram,and a 8 core processor.
I think the mouse also changes the soft target when you move it as well which is what causes it to trip out. I forgot if it was fine against one enemy but against multiple even moving slightly can make it switch targets.

It does, but I managed to fix that by switching in camera options lock-on switching from directional to switch in order. You have to lock on and lock off to swap enemies, but it stops the mouse from changing enemies all the time.
So am not the only one having the camera being snappy when in combat i even disable an option but didn't change anything
