Anyway to fully eliminate popin?
Got a graphics overhaul mod that unlocks a lot of stuff to 5 the max setting but some grass still pops in. Is this something you can not stop at all? Or has someone managed to fix it.

Yeah, you can buy a NVME. That way you don't experience pop in because your drive has write speeds that dwarfs what Rebirth requires to not have pop in.

r.MassiveEnvironment.ViewLODScale=2
r.MassiveEnvironment.CoverageLODScale=2

For those blatant plant LOD swaps at least.
Thanks should this be under system settings?

BRUH I have 4 NVME Drives, it is on it, ad hw moinitor reports ♥♥♥♥ all drive usage although admittedly pci-e read and write out says just under 7000MBps for the read despite the disk it's on reporting 20MB

Why are there so many peopel thinking NVME = eliminated pop in.

IT IS A UE4 GAME, IT'S A SETTING WITHIN THE GAME ITSELF. NVME will help with stutter etcc sure but the limit in the game is the limit in the game unless it can be modified.
Put it under system settings still get some obvious pop in on some grass a few feet ahead. Bit annoying.

Should it be somewhere else?

Using graphical overhaul mod and FFVII HOOK and editing Engine.ini located in

Only NVME supports direct storage, may be biggest reason ppl thinks. Not sure the OS can read the real transfer rate as the GPU will direct access the SSD instead as I also like to know how fast the game need. My game does not has pop-in w/o mod under windows 11.
Yeah, you can play on my main pc or GeForce now.

Fair PCI-E Throughput is like 6650MBps for me anyway used the lines given by other guy and all pop in is gone now. Those 2 lines are magic.

Update 7192MBps might be due to the LOD change

I think it just increases the LOD range by a lot. You might be able to still see it pop in very far away. Of course that means you are now rendering a lot more polygons, but on my hardware at least I haven't noticed lower performance.

As for direct storage, I don't think this has anything to do with that. LOD stands for level of detail. Game devs save assets at various levels of detail and then show you the lower ones at a distance to stay within a polygon budget. Somehow the way this was set up in this game seems pretty horrendous where some assets are literally changing LOD level in a small circle around you. I don't think I've ever seen it this obvious in a game.
Actually over 9000MBps now

100% with you on everything.

TBH all I care about is right infront of me, that has now been fixed have not FPS counted but using the graphical rework tweak with shadows at default as 16GB isn't enough VRAM for more, with 125% res scale (Assuming it's working), the game still feels butter smooth on a controller on this rig. no more frigging flowers changing colour when i walk 2 steps as it swaps in a different assett lol
