Ok how are you all even getting the game to start up?
I go through the trouble of waiting for my game to download on my slow-ass internet, but I can't even get my game to start up. Every time I try, it acts like it's gonna start up, then nothing, not even a game window, or even an error message, just closes. And I know my PC meets the minimum requirements, at least for the most part, I don't know about my CPU.

My specs:
CPU: Intel Core 17-3770 @3.40GHz
RAM: 32GB
Graphics: RTX 2060 Super w/ 8GB VRAM

And I do have the game installed on an SSD as well

Try and see if you have updates for your GFX; I had the same issue with Marvel Rivals.
upgrade your PC. your CPU doesn't even meet the minimal requirements and your GPU is barely the minimal requirement. aka your CPU isnt supported due to it being way too old

just refund, based on the threads weve gotten in the last couple of days SQENIX didnt bother to make the game run on like 50% of modern systems

I was afraid that was the case when I saw a post of someone else having the same problem with the same CPU (Though his was a 3770K) so thank you for, unfortunately, confirming that
FF7 Rebirth requires the AVX2 instruction set.

If you look at the intel ark page, your I7-3770 doesn't have that instruction set (Instruction set Extensions Line)
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/65719/intel-core-i73770-processor-8m-cache-up-to-3-90-ghz/specifications.html

vs the minimum requirement:

yeah sadly it happens. like the comment under me says your CPU lack AVX2 instructions which is why the game wont boot

Yeah, I saw another post mention that so I get the idea

his cpu isnt modern his cpu is over 12yrs old. and lacks AVX2 instructions. its un fortunate but games cant keep supporting old hardware eventually it has to move forward

It was a budget PC and my CPU being so old is an unfortunate consequence of this fact

if it was a budget PC you got robbed i been building PC since 1992 and i would never use a cpu that old in a budget build. someone just wanted to steal your money
I had Steam install the game and then I double clicked on the icon on the desktop. :steamhappy:

Bataan your specs are garbage and don’t meet the minimal requirements. You were also vague with what you meant by SSD. Which looking at how underpowered the rest of your pc is you are using a rectangle 20 year old sata3 SSD instead of a nVMD SSD.

Try this mod it makes the game playable without having a AVX 2 compatible cpu.

About this mod

Adds support for
old CPUs by emulating the missing AVX2 instruction.
FSR 3.1 and XeSS upscalers and frame generation.
DLSS4 (v310.1.0.0) and the new transformer model.
Hope it works for you!
Tell us the result please

You don't have enough VRAM. My game starts up in literally a few seconds. 4k 120fps no issues. Your CPU is also a dinosaur.
Intel 9960x
4090
64gb RAM
NVME

This is not a developer problem, dude is running a 3rd gen Intel with a very below average card for modern gaming. Stop blaming everything on the developer and upgrade your toaster.
