There are far to many mini games.

Costa Del Sol and Golden saucer are so close together I dont even want to play through it. Queens blood being forced so you interact with a new character that I honestly could not care less about. Wish you could skip it,

There is almost 0 content like this in all the peak FF titles. 6-9

Card game in 8 and 9 are optional. Card tournament in 9 is almost entirely optional. Hunting festival in lindblum ties into the main mechanics of the game. Chocobo Forest and all that its all optional.

If youre not willing to lame out springs/shrines/browser game crap you miss out on like half the entire content in this game. Theres mobile/browser game crap iin actual quests.

People back then didnt mind it because it WAS NOT THERE.

Only a handful of QB games are mandatory, and the few mini games you're forced to play you don't exactly need to get high scores. The minigames only take up minutes of your time unless you're actively trying to complete and high score every single one.

I've liked almost all minigames, the only ones I don't like are the "find the 4 mcguffins around the map", but otherwise it's all been a blast.

Not this absurdity again.
We know there are mini games. Your complaining about it won't change their presence.
And these complaints are 100% ridiculous considering that the OG had a metric ton of mini games too gating your story progress every single time they could think of something to do so.
Need to go to Junon? Bad depth perception dolphin jump.
Helping Aerith escape from the Turks? Mini game to push barrels on them.
Wall Market? Mini game to do push ups.
Sector 6 climbing? Lesser mini game to do a properly timed jump.
Shinra Building? sneaking mini game.
G-Bike to escape shinra building.
Forced Fort Condor during story progression.


Need me to go on? Because I can, in fact, go on.
Rebirth has a lot of mini games, yes, but 90% of the time, they are 100% optional and not required.
Even in Costa Del Sol you only need to do 3 of them if you want to skip some.
Gold Saucer doesn't force you to interact with all of them neither.
Queen's Blood you can quite literally forfeit via an NPC and just move on with your life.

This constant whining about mini-games when the OG kept forcing you to play mini games constantly, is absurd.

You can forfeit against red immediately and story proceeds

The cutscenes are pure gold also. The QB prototelic scenes and the gully in under junon just to name a couple, absolutely great. I couldn't stop laughing and smiling and with banger soundtracks to go with the great cutscenes.

idk man, like let’s see mandatory games... push synchronized button game, bike game, cpr game, parade game, chocobo race game, dodge boulders game, archeological dig game, snowboard game, body temp game, timed wind wall game, escape execution game, slap fight game, fort condor game, submarine game… did i miss any?

those are all mandatory in the original 40hr playthrough, there are far less in the 40hr rebirth playthrough.

those are all mandatory in the original 40hr playthrough, there are far less in the 40hr rebirth playthrough.

And minigames in rebirth are still much much less frustrating than those from older games. Chocobo breeding in ff7, ropejumping in ff9, all of minigames in ff10

Mini games were a key part of original ff7 and remake, makes complete sense that there are many here too. They are not all great, and honestly right now the Piano keyboard controls make me want to beat my head against a wall, but I am loving the card game. It's no triple triad but its good.
