Issue with character dialogue sound levels
I'm having this issue where If I'm running around and one of the other characters begins to speak when they are behind me / off camera, they become pretty much inaudible.

Almost like it thinks I'm running a 5.1 system but I only have a basic 2.1.

Have checked windows and realtek audio settings and nothing looks off.

Anyone experienced this and managed to fix it?

Yes. have noticed the sound mixing in 5.1 seems off. I reduced the other audio to about 7 while leaving speech at 10 which seems decent but it does appear to need a patch.

Yeah I get that too where the music can be way too loud over the dialogue.

The specific issue I'm having seems more to do with positional audio. Like the game is trying to force 5.1 and push the sound to rear speakers that don't exist.

Did you find any solution to this?

Unfortunately not. Just learned to live with it.

any news on this? I'm just starting and this is maddening that someone who is literally just behind me is too quiet to hear just because my camera isn't focused on them.
You can get around this issue by turning off "Audio enhancements" in System>Sound>Properties but this solution is usually no good if you use sound equalizers since it will disable all enhancements from realtek etc.

As far as i know this is a somewhat common problem with Windows 11 where it'll tell games you have a 7.1 surround setup despite only Having a 2.0/2.1 speaker setup.
