Barret is not the guy he was before

IDK if square enix wants to get a younger audince and made things more family friendly but Barret is an smiling idiot compared to ff7 part 1, I don´t like it. Barret was like a angry father for the group before, now he is an idiot

haha yeah i think they will. idk how far along in rebirth you are yet but you will definitely get some of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cid in this game when he is pressed

In OGff7, his character arch basically falls off a cliff once you leave Midgar. Outside of the Gold Saucer, he just becomes a background character.

He's just able to show his character off better, he was always a secret softy, the PS1 game just could barely have anyone emote and also just had less character moments in general

It really does. There isn't much character development in FF7 once you leave Midgar. Once you can have any character on your party at any point, they had to make all the writing very generic so it worked with everyone. Especially with the optional characters.

Also, what a lot of People tend to forget, remember the Restrictions of that Time. FF7 OG already was on 3 Discs. And there were allways some small Hints or references to the Charakters intendet Behavior. For Example Barret talked on several Occasions about his Daugther or rather mentioned her. But going so deep into it, as they do know with the Remake. Just think about how many Discs the Game would have had in that Time.
I mean the Space of 1 CD was arounf 650mb with its 150GB now that would turn into: 230 Discs :D (Ofc Graphics takes also a Hughe Chunk, but overall that would for Sure be 10 to 20 More Discs alone for all the Story Stuff, Extra VA Lines and so on)

Barret is putting on airs and is stressed AF for most of the party's time in Midgar. Out of Midgar, many of those stresses are gone, for good or worse, and he no longer has to put on airs because he's ceded soft power over to Cloud as leader of the party.

Square Enix is gonna pull a Resident Evil 3 Remake but on a much grander scale. They can't modernize the original 1:1. The last part, part 3, will mostly be taken up by Knights of the Round Materia & Sephiroth's Super Nova.

FF8 had the same problem, after you leave the first area, the story just turns into generic gibberish. All the build up for SEED just becomes background noise.

Disk 3 is basically just the final dungeon, weapons and the open world, you can unlock pretty much everything else on Disk 2.

Not really, he already showed his goofy side in part 1. And that's good, because that's the impression I got from the original game. I actually got worried they had made him too serious when I first saw the trailer for part 1, with him wearing sunglasses and all.

Which is my Point. Look how Restricted that Stuff was because of that alone. You got 3 CD´s one which basicly Contained only 3 Things which arnt on CD2.
