How do I make this perform better on laptop
I was hesitant of getting this game mainly due to ff16 only giving me a max 40fps even on low setting but due to square saying it was optimize for steam deck I figure my RTX 3070 laptop could run it well the same way it ran the Remake but even on low setting my max fps is about 50fps and it gave me some frame drop most of the time

I tried all I could to boost fps but nothing is working I even tried lossless scaling but due the game stuttering it was kinda impossible to enjoy

can anyone help me boost the performance of this game

Use RTSS to cap the framerate to a solid 30 or 40 fps. That should hopefully give you a solid enough frametime to benefit from the frame generation.

if you are still encountering stuttering, there are a few ini tweaks currently on the mod nexus i would try all of them out and determine which works best. As of right now performance is variable from person to person, but hopefully in the coming weeks, we are given a few optimization patches.

Question how do I increase frametime I notice that 30fps in consoles look very smooth compare to pc how to get that smoothness

You don't really wanna increase frametime, just make it a consistent graph. There are tons of really good guides on the internet and youtube. It requires a bit of tinkering in control panel to get a good frametime with minimal latency. There is a really good guide on youtube showcasing the witcher with a consistent graph. He also provides tons of tips and tweaks.

I have a RTX 3070 TI Laptop and I run the game at max settings at 60 FPS, I think its just your laptop is not optimize properly.

4060 laptop here, I'm getting around 60-70fps on medium settings with dlss set to performance.

These are my specs

CPU: 2th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700H 2.70 GHz
RAM: 16GB RAM
GPU: RTX 3070

Any advice you can give me
there is a mod on nexus that boosts performance

for some reason most of the engine ini files isnt working for along with ffvii hook

even the one thats supposed to turn of depth of field isnt working for me sadly
try the optimizer one

How much VRAM have your GPU ?
When it exceed 90% the frametime is suffering because the engine constantly delete/load data to avoid getting out of VRAM.

Not only memory management is not great because it is kinda arbitrary, but also problem is, streaming on Unreal is real bad.

What you can do if the game starts to stutters is to go back to the menu and reload the save to clean up a bit the memory of no longer useful stuff, or completely reboot the game.

Ofc don't try to push graphics or resolution too far, even if the GPU can handle it in raw performance, it may not on memory side.

Same specs but 3060 (hp victus 16d-1038nl)
I've installed dlss new version (the one from cyberpunk as per this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFjG6q18Wfw

then set everything on high (1920x1080 window no borders) and capped game at 30 fps in graphics settings

finally downloaded Lossless Scaling latest version and set it as this:

custom, 1x, NIS, 5 (half slide), LSFG 3.0; 4x, res scale 100% (full right), on, off, off, off, allow tearing, 3, off, on, on, DXGI, GPU Intel (this is important as the game is rendering dedicated gpu through integrated one as I have no mux), auto, off, on.

I'm reaching solid 120 fps (30/120) with 70% use of my gpu and pretty much enjoying the game to be honest.
Obviously I understand that you might not like Frame Generation, it was a blessing to me,
let me know if it works.

I Yeah I've trying to make lossless scaling work but sadly it causes a lot of fps drop due to it using vram but imma give your settings a try
Something's definitely not right. I'm using a 3070ti laptop. I've been playing @1080p / 75-100 fps with occasional drops into the 50s. And that's with everything maxed out with DLSS set to 66%. What resolution are you playing at? The 3070 / 3070ti laptops are about as strong as a 3060ti desktop. They're both really 1080p cards that can do 1440p on occasion. Also, is it plugged in? If so, is it set to high performance mode?

EDIT: They might have been good 1440p cards when they first released, but they're basically in the 1080p phase of their lifecycle.
