Background Model Detail at Ultra causes the game to crash at 4K
So, I've done a ton of testing and found a way to run Rebirth at resolutions beyond 4K using an app called SRWE.

I tested the game at max settings from 4K and several other resolutions up to 8K. I found that the single graphics setting that was causing my game to crash, even at standard 4K, was the Background Model Detail set at Ultra.

I was having some serious trouble in the Grasslands zone when looking over vast distances. It seems that there's something wrong with that Ultra setting for the background models. It would be nice if they got that sorted out because it has crashed on me a couple of times and made me lose hours of progress.

you're probably running out of vram. ultra is very demanding so you should put it on ulta and adjust everything else to compensate for it

do a DXDIAG and show us what you're trying to run that on

Nope, I have a 7900 XTX with 24GB of VRAM. The maximum usage I saw was 16GB. It's the Ultra setting specifically causing this to happen

ultra isn't the problem, it's your computer's ability to run it. i use ultra as well on 4k

amd cards seem to have crash issues with this game right now, amd is aware of it and looking into it apparently

Ultra setting for background objects isn't a problem in itself. If it was everyone would have the same issue.
I've got no problems with it myself either.

Same issue, same card. There is a known issue in the latest AMD driver release that says the game can crash due to "long playtime". I hope they fix this issue soon, as I would really like to use the Ultra setting for background detail.
Playing on a 4080 with everything on max at 4K and no DLSS and I haven't had a single crash in 20 hours. Could be an AMD driver thing.

Setup:
- 7900 xtx
- i7 12 gen
- ssd 2tb 980 PRO
- RAM DDR5 32 GB
- AMD Adrenaline Edition 24.7.1 (Downgraded cause read that could help)

Graphic Settings:
- Res: 4k
- Scaling: 100% both
- Background: High

Game Progress:
- Chapter 2: Exploring

Problems I still have after trying everything:
- LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line: 952] still happening
- After a while, when I open the map it is just blank and, after that, when I open the menu the screen goes black, no error showing up, just keeps being black

PD:. The game is beautiful but these errors are making a really bad experience out of it
Definitely an AMD issue, was having same issue consistently at the same exact spot even if I was 10 seconds into loading the game. Soon as I turned background models back down to High zero issue.

PC Is so far beyond the requirements of this game that its actually hilarious. 7900 XTX also btw

It sucks that you have to choose Ultra if you want the game to look decent.

Anything lower than Ultra just make the game looks so much worse and the object popping is significantly noticeable.

4090 and i9 14gen series. Weird shadow artifacts. Anyone seen the same?
At that location, at some viewing angles, yes. I have not seen it happen anywhere else.
